ABR was one of the best bands I've ever seen play. As for the opening local bands, all were great except the 2nd band to play (who was absolutely horrible). The 3rd band before ABR was very, very good with a lot of energy. Great show, GREAT VENUE!! Will definitely come back!

I went to the concert for ABR and In Hearts Wake. I don't like missing a chance to see bands from other countries. Both bands put in a spectacular show but ABR absolutely killed it. They flew through the Messengers album and tacked on five of their greatest songs for an encore. They're a band of insanely talented artists.

Best line up on a ticket for a show. The Deluxe is a great place for a show, but the smell of SWEAT from all the Moshers started to overwhelm by the time ABR took the stage. I think they should've moved it upstairs to the Egyptian room.

Having just been to this venue once before, I had high expectations, and they were met. The venue is very large and open with plenty of walking space, even when crowded. Large bathrooms as well have plenty of room for a crowd. The show was fantastic. The sound quality and lighting was great. It is easy to see the stage here from any point.

The venue was a really good setting. There was plenty of space, and that really made it comfortable. The music was great! (duh) and the lighting was actually really entertaining. The show was a runaway good time from start to finish! Would, no, WILL see them again. Also, any band that's going to play a rock/hardcore cover of carol of the bells at their concert is going to be a good time to watch, and these guys blew it out of the water.

August Burns Red put on another amazing show. I've seen them several times in Columbus Oh and they always delivered a performance much better than their album content, which is crucial for a band. Everybody in the band always puts on a high energy and authentic show. This one in particular was even better than the last and one of my new favorite concerts. The set list seemed longer than usual, which is a huge bonus and they even came back on stage for several extra songs because they felt bad the Cleveland Browns lost!! Now that's devotion to the fans if I ever saw it. Thanks ABR for the great show!!!

Make Them Suffer was by far the best band at the show. I would have loved to have seen them play more. Silent Planet was too political for my taste but the sound was good. Erra rocked second best band. All of August Burns Red songs blended together. We left early when they played. The bad part of that was missing out on getting to meet Make Them Suffer

ABR always puts a great show and every time i bring a friend that has never listen them to one their shows they become instant fans.********** I give August Burns Red performance a five star rating BUT I give House of Blues venue rating 2 stars because their PA sound system is way below par. I've been to other venues Where ABR has played especially The meridian houston back in 2009 (closed now) their PA sound system was phenomenal you could hear and feel every snare hit and kick drum thump on your chest while the heavey melodic tones from guitars would raise your back hairs as the clear and growling sounds of the lead singer would leave your ears in europhia. House of blues felt like they put the dial on mid and bass on 2 from 10 and highs on 0 from 10. The whole sound drowned.

To keep my review in context, I'm 38 and a metal head, ABR is a Christian Band and that was a primary reason my son (17 years old) and I were there. There were several opening bands for ABR on the docket for the evening. Beartooth, Defeater, Bless the Fall, and maybe one other. The Beartooh frontman kept stating that it was chaos that kept them going - I kinda had a chuckle at that. I suppose chaos is something that sounds attractive when you're young, but as one gets older, "order" is coveted. It was apparent the Defeater was *not* a Christian band by their language and I found myself reading the news on my phone while waiting for them to quit spewing garbage. Bless the Fall used more profanity that I'd prefer also. Musically ABR was far and away better than all of the openers with Bless the Fall as a distant second. In fact, I couldn't believe how good they sounded, for a live venue it was as close to the CD as one could get. Amazing. The only complaint I may have was that it felt like ABR rushed the set a bit. The Frontman did say he was sick that night (I sure couldn't tell) and was doing the best he could to their credit. I personally would have liked for them to have shared a little more of their faith with us, but heck, I may have been the only one in the room that felt that way. ABR ended their concert abruptly with a "Good Night" and they disappeared from the stage like smoke in the wind. The crowd started chanting "one more song" and ABR returned and obliged with two. One of their Christmas tunes from Sleddin' Hill and one of their tunes I didn't recognize that was equally good. The frontman wished us God bless and good night to a much more satisfactory end to the concert. ABR played for just a touch over an hour to the best I remember. The concert began at 7:30pm, ABR didn't take the stage until around 10pm. If they were in the area again I'd definitely return to see them. Depending on the opening bands, I might wait until later in the evening to arrive. I paid extra to sit in the "VIP" Section which is a small roped off area of Bogarts. It was worth it as there was seating and a fantastic view. I personally felt the acoustics were better there as well.

Beartooth started things off with an awesome set. Defeater however was not good. They had no energy and lost the crowd quickly. Bless The Fall was epic, and August Burns Red was even better. With that said concessions are WAY over priced. 11 dollars for a 24oz can of Corona. I think not.

Ok, maybe that's not the best word to use, but they were AMAZING. I don't recommend bringing a "professional" camera, unless you are taller than me (5'1) and don't plan on moshing. You either move with the crowd, or die. It was my first (and hopefully not last) time seeing them.

Incredible except the band that played right before the headliner, August Burns Red, (which was Ice Nine Kills) mics cut out as well as guitar amps. For the last 3 or 4 of the songs they played, you could only hear the drums. It was sad. I felt bad for the band. After it cut out the first time they went backstage and tried to fix it. They came out and everything worked for inlynjust a moment and they were forced to play the rest of their show with no sound from the guitars or the vocalist. Their performance was shortened because of the technical difficulty delay trying to get things up and going to no avail. I felt bad for them.

The concert was unbelievable. The energy from the crowd and the bands (especially ABR) was awesome! Banging song line up from ABR and Erra and Born of Osiris were sick. The opening bands were enjoyable. They showed up. August Burns Red was amazing as always. They never do anything wrong when it comes to performing live. Every time they are in columbus I will go to see them play. Phenomenal. The Newport could improve on its customer service a little bit, though I know they have to deal with a lot of people, and unruly ones at that sometimes. Also, I love loud music, but wow. They really ought to turn the volume down like a few decibels. If it HURTS to listen toyour favorite band, I think its too loud. I couldn't differentiate between instruments during solos, or hear the vocals well. It needs to be mixed better and the master level should be brought down a tad. That's my preference at least.

As always Newport delivers. Great metalcore for 20 bucks. How can anyone compete with that? I have seen some of my favorite bands at both Newport and LC for dirt cheap prices. August Burns Red alone warranted the 20 dollar ticket price. The fact that Of Mice and Men and The Color Morale were in the lineup as well was an added bonus. Not a complaint but the lead guitarist of August Burns Red wore flip flops and thats not metal!

Unbelievable show! August Burns Red played there longest show ever. Silverstein was awesome and my buddy got called up to play guitar on stage with them. Texas in July showed amazing stage presence and I the Breather was a good way to open the show. Overall one of the best shows I have seen. If you wanna see the vid of my buddy like our band Endless Runs Thin on Facebook an check it out

It was the first show I've been to in over 6 years and I gotta say it was AMAZING!!! The energy between the music and the fans was something I can't even begin to explain. If you've never heard the any of the bands that played that night I highly encourage you to go. If you don't mind getting pushed or sharing sweat this is the type of show for you. Keep up the good work guys!!!!!

This is a band that puts on such a great live show, I think they can turn any person into a metal fan. This is the band that got me into this genre of music, and they never fail to disappoint. They have the rare ability to play live music and make it sound better than it does on the recording! They are so tight! And energetic! And straight up just rock out. They care that the crowd had a good time and they give their all at every performance and you can really tell they are having a great time on stage. JB Brubaker shreds the guitar like no one I've ever seen. Every member of this band is extremely talented and dedicated and I even would venture to bring my dad or friends who don't like this type of music to to one of their shows because I think if they went they would really appreciate how great it is. I recommend seeing this band in concert to anyone who is a fan of music.

Well the whole night was totally amazing. The only bad part was the wait in between Northlane and Miss May I and Miss May I and August Burns Red was a little longer than I would have like but I mean hey there's always reasons why. Everyone put on an amazing show. ERRA wasn't my favorite but had good stuff, Fit For A King had a lot of great stuff, just bought Slave to Nothing album and love it, Northlane was all right not my kinda thing. Miss May I totally impressed me. The energy the whole band had was incredible and I think they sound better live than in the studio. And finally August Burns Red. They were also incredible. Had great lights, great energy and them and Miss May I got amazingly huge reactions from the crowd etc. I would go see Fit for A King, Miss May I, and August Burns Red live again anytime!!!

The Norva was a good venue. I missed the opener Fit For a King due to traffic but Northlane was pretty good, Miss May I put on a fantastic show and the crowd as a whole responded to their showmanship. I absolutely Loved the set that ABR put on, JB's flip-flops were a nice touch. Matt pointed me out and tossed me a drum stick which I thought was pretty cool of him. Dustin continues to impress with his musical talent playing his bass like I wish I could and then shredding on the guitar as well as rockin some percussion. Even Jake and Brent and JB got in on the drum line show they put on, that was epic! Great job guys putting on a fantastic show. And....Jakes dance moves were very impressive. Way to represent the kingdom and giving God the glory that he deserves guys! Keep it up, this was my first ABR show and will not be my last. Please guys if you get this review, play a show at the 9:30 club or somewhere in northern VA closer to d.c. I will gladly drive 3 hours again nevertheless.
