The 1975

THE 1975 IN CONCERT:Following up four critically acclaimed EPs, British alt-rockers The 1975 made their highly anticipated album debut in 2013, edging out the Nine Inch Nails' comeback record for the No. 1 spot on the UK Albums Chart. Featuring the band's signature blend of classic '80s pop and ethereal electronic elements, the self-titled album's outsized drum breaks and kaleidoscopic guitar work translate beautifully in concert settings. Hot on the heels of a string of intimate performances in 2013, The 1975 have fans eagerly awaiting their 2014 North American tour dates.

Awesome show. Great crowd interaction. They sounded even better live than they do on the album. I would definitely see them again if they come back.

The show was amazing! The venue was really cool and they had mentioned that it was the biggest show they had played up until that point. The sound was great as was the lighting. Very entertaining and the band was way better than I expected. I liked them, but they were even better live in my opinion.

The night was filled with excitement and energy and a lot of quite young teenagers. While the 1975 was on point with their performance, the crowd full of young girls was a little bit much to handle. The crowd got so crazy that even the band was adamant that they calmed down before continuing. I guess those really girls just really wanted to grab on to the band members. The crowd did make the evening a little less enjoyable but it was still a fun night full of great music and memories.

This was my second time seeing The 1975 and they did not disappoint. They had so much more energy and confidence this time around- crazy how much of a difference two months makes! They were all soo happy and they fed off of the crowd- The show was fantastic. I finally got to hear 'fallingforyou' which they had left out of the set previously when I saw them.

I'm sad that i could only give this five stars because oh my god it was literally one of the greatest shows I've ever been to. I'm not even upset that it's over because it was actually that incredible. the venue was a little unorganized. we got there at noon and were like the third people in line, but because nobody really controlled the line at all we ended up getting cut and were the 50th people in like (roughly). We still managed to get to the front though. Besides that, The 1975 sounds better live than they do recorded. See them live. buy their album. Literally give them all of your money.

The 1975 consists of such humble, down to earth guys. They took pictures with fans before and after the show. Their stage presence is great and the songs are hard to not jam out to. Although they don't really make eye contact with the audience, that doesn't make them any less better live.

The boys put on an absolutely incredible show. From start to finish they did not stop rocking, and put everything they had into the show. The crowd helped out by singing along to every single song, and dancing; myself included. Matty, the lead singer is a sweetheart, and so are George, Ross and Adam- the whole band is so nice and they are so humble and talented. Best show I've ever been to, I love my favorite band :)

The 1975 came out and ran through their setlist like they had a plane to catch. They didn't stop to say anything to the audience (besides the odd shouted "New York!" during songs) until after the 4th song, where they said "Yeah" and then started song 5. The ego radiating off the stage was palpable, and there were plenty of moments where all three were crouched over their guitars playing dramatically unaware of each other or the audience. They sounded good, but think there was a vocal track playing during their performance. Much to my dismay, Bowery Ballroom staff were unusually rude and disrespectful to the paying audience. Overall the experience was bad and the concert wasn't worth the sleep we would be missing out on, and we left halfway through and went home to bed. Don't waste your time or money with this band.

Despite feeling like the oldest one in the room, Manchester, England band The 1975 did make me feel young again; you can gripe all you want about the Basement, but its a great place to get up, close, and personal when seeing bands there. Sound was good.....hopefully in a couple of years I'll be able to say I saw The 1975 at the Basement years ago with only 100 people in the crowd......

Seeing The 1975 live (for the 3rd time!) is almost indescribable. The music, the visual of the stage, their charismatic performance creates an emotional experience that will take you from one end of the spectrum to the other. This is my first The 1975 concert. I love The 1975 and I was beyond excited when they announced this tour and they were actually coming to Nebraska! I bought the tickets during the presage and I waited 116 days for this concert. The day of the actual concert I waited 6 hours in line during the rain! It was definitely the craziest thing I've done for this band, but definitely not the last. The opening acts were great at pumping the crowd up. When the first note of the first opening act came on I started to cry because it was real and I was there. When The 1975 came on I was in so much shock. I could not believe they were standing in front of me, I wish I could relive it. I cannot wait for their next tour and hopefully they'll come back to Nebraska! The merch is beautiful and they have signed copies of CDs and Vinyls!

Firstly, thank you to pinewood for recognizing the rain and moving the show indoors, the openers colouring and Pale Waves were awesome. This was my 3rd time seeing my favorite band and i'm not gonna lie I was left pretty upset. They shortened the setlist, so the show lasted so quick compared to the other two concerts i've seen so i was left wanting more. I noticed right away because I was waiting for some songs in particular that they played days before. I was also disappointed because Matty (frontman of the band) didn't talk to the crowd at all. But the crowd was horribleeeee. I'm not exaggerating but my and my friend were the only ones dancing and singing to their songs while everyone else literally was just standing there watching the band it was crazy how boring the crowd was. Even the pit was calm and it's usually crazy in there. I had pretty good seats (sec A) but it makes me mad that some people in the pit area probably weren't as passionate for the band as me and my friend. It makes me wonder how they got pit seats considering the pit sold out in less that half a minute... Openers were really good. There was a drunk guy in the pit yelling and cussing out one of the openers and it took security a while to take him out. Overall, if i knew I wasn't going to be seeing songs I haven't seen live already I probably wouldn't have gone. It was such a struggle to get my tickets I don't think it was worth it this time sadly. Nonetheless if you haven't seen the 1975 you definitely should see them if you're a fan. It's such an astounding experience to see their songs live and their visuals are so breathtakingly beautiful. Regardless of the setlist being shortened, Matty not talking to the crowd like he always does, and the crowd acting like they're dead, I had so much fun. I hope their next show I see will be better.

The 1975 puts on an amazing and breathtaking performance! The lighting is beautiful, they coordinate their songs with the color of the lights. It causes the audience to truly feel the music as if we are actually inside a song as if it was a physical item. The sound of the instruments are loud and clear, and Matt Healy's voice is practically angelic. I cannot wait for them to come back to El Paso! i just happened to stumble on to The 1975 in the summer of 2013. I was listening to a lot of mixes on the 8 tracks app and one song always stuck out for me. It was this song called "Sex" by a band I had never heard of. Fast forward three years later to my seventh time seeing them live. This experience was a little different in that instead of being in the front in all the glorious energy, sweat, tears, and fight for oxygen, we opted for a VIP table in the back. I have read articles and seen interviews describing the artistic aesthetic of the stage design, which when your are being pushed and pulled from every direction and arms and heads are in your line of sight it is kind of hard to appreciate what the band has created for their fans visually. I mean The 1975 could perform in a dark room and the music speaks for itself. Being able to sit back and enjoy the music along with the visually stimulating stage design, made for the best The 1975 concert to date.

This was my first concert and I couldn't have asked for a better band to kick things off with. It was amazing not only musically but artistically. The lighting and stage effects were mind blowing! Matty has an amazing stage presence that makes you love him even more. My sister who has never even heard their music before had a wonderful time and is a new fan. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the intermission between the opener and the 1975 playing seemed very long but that could just be a technical issue that cant be helped..

I first heard their song chocolate about 3 years ago and ever since then I've binge listened to all of their albums. Most every song I've loved. Undo is my ultimate favorite as it describes what a lot of people go thru, liking someone, then when you're too busy, they have someone else and you want them to leave them for you - " I didn't even see you when I liked you now, I got no time. Girl wanna see you undo it, I wanna see you but you're not mine." Other favorites are the sound and love me which I got my 5 and 4 year old nieces to jam out to that song with me and request to play it. The have always reminded me of The Cure whom I also love, but The 1975 also don't care about labels, and some songs are not for kids. Others are lessons like one song settle down which describes being with someone who is 17, it's thrilling but " can't be what you need if she's 17" you're their to have fun, jump around in the stands and if you see someone just standing around, or kissing their bf or girlfriend multiple times you wonder if they got their tickets for free because how can they not get up and rock out. I love this band and have seen them 2 times. Can't wait to see them again.

This was my first concert and let me say that I'm so glad it was this one. I still can't believe how amazing the showmanship of the band is, the lights were beautiful, everything was perfect. I hope I get to see them again someday.

The 1975 creates an experience rather than just a show. I attended their concert at the San Jose State Event Center on October 18 and I left gushing about the quality of their performance. They were musically astounding and the lighting design was aesthetically pleasing. Their attention to the lighting design replaces any graphics and greatly improved an already amazing show. I have seen the 1975 in the past and can say they played a lot better this time then last time round, where they almost sounded kind of sloppy but still managed to put on an amazing performance. At the beginning of this show the crowd surged forward, crushing the people in front, including me. However, during UGH Matty asked the crowd to calm down and step back and after the song restated that. After that, the show was extremely enjoyable and I had plenty of room with nobody pushing. The 1975 exceded any standards or expectations. I highly recommend seeing them and look forward to seeing them again in the future.

This was my 3rd time seeing them. The whole set is visually and aesthetically pleasing. It's good idea to go watch even if you don't know them/their songs because the visuals WILL blow you away. I will always go back to watch The 1975!!

My second time seeing The 1975; last time at Berkeley Greek Theater, where they sounded great in outdoor amphitheater. Fantastic music but speakers here seemed underpowered and unable to deal with very poor acoustics in arena. Their lighting set is fantastic creating many fascinating backgrounds in sync with the music but you can't see any of the band members because there's no lighting on them. When the background is bright LED displays, anything in front of these, including the band members, is really dark and that somewhat disengages the band from the audience. They're a fantastic band and I still will see them everytime they come to the area.

This venue was amazing! You could see everything so well! So much space to dance or even sit and enjoy! I did not like the opener... but that is not who I came to see! The 1975 is always amazing with a life changing set and fun music there is something for everyone!

This was my second time seeing The 1975, the first time bein at a small theatre in North Park, all GA. Very stressful, the whole atmosphere was chaotic and unpleasant. But! My experience at the Open Air Theater was just the opposite. Security was super nice, as well as attendees. The band was amazing (as always) and it was all around a great experience. 10/20 would recommend

This was my 3rd time seeing The 1975...the 2nd time within a month. I actually drove from Atlanta to Raleigh to see them. They are always amazing. I've been to many concerts and The 1975 shows are the absolute best. Red Hat Ampitheater is a great venue too.

I waited about 13 hours, and I got second row. It was definitely worth the wait! Seeing the 1975 in concert was absolutely magical, and it was an experience I could never forget. The boys are highly experienced musically, and Matty has a wonderful, lively stage presence. I'm so in love with this band, even more so after seeing them live. Definitely go if you have the chance!!

The 1975 was fantastic. They sound fabulous live-just like all their records!! Matty Healy is an amazing stage performer and really gets the crowd going and interacts with them. His stage persona esp. the dancing is hilarious and so fun and quirky. You WILL fall in love with Matty Healy by the end of the concert. The set and lighting designs were extremely creative and looked beautiful in photos-bring a good camera! Overall one of my favorite concerts.

Although the Raleigh show wasn't as exciting as their show in Charlotte, it was still freaking amazing!! The 1975 puts on a phenomenal show with an excellent setlist. The 1975 is such a humble band -- no huge egos, just great music. You leave with a smile on your face and wanting to follow them to their next gig. AWESOME show!

I recently saw The 1975, at Charlotte Metro Crédit Union Amphitheater in Charlotte, and it was amazing!!!! First of all, as a serious fan, who camps out for days prior to the show, I felt that the venue handled our devotion to this band extraordinarily well. They were giving out wristbands to the first fans who went to the venue to scope things out, and get info. Once we had our VIP wristband, we were told we couldn't camp out at the venue, and we would need a Fast Pass as well as a VIP wristband for being allowed first in the lines. We purchased the Fast Pass for $5.00 each. We then slept in our car overnight in the parking lot located within the venue. I will say, parking was a hassle, as there is a lot of construction going on in the complex, and parking spaces have been seriously reduced because of this. So my advice would be to get to the venue early to avoid not having a space, or having to walk a long distance to get to your car. Once we got in line at 12, we lined up in order of our wristband numbers, which prevented anyone from jumping in line in front of you, which is brilliant!!! It saved a lot of drama from happening, and random fans from jumping the line. Awesome!! There was a thunderstorm that started while we were in line, and the security personnel allowed us to leave and take shelter for awhile. So we left for a bit, and were able to go to a restaurant and have some dinner, which was great. There were several restaurants in the complex just walking distance from the venue. Everything was coordinated so well, which is commendable to say the least. Once the show was getting ready to start, we were taken back in groups of 20, and checked in one at a time, which kept fans from running, pushing, and basically storming the barricade. It was amazing!!! The crowd was awesome, nothing crazy happened...no one passed out, there was no pushing and fighting in the pit area, everything went smooth!! Matty even commented during the show, about the "good vibe" at the venue and the crowd! One thing that helped at this venue, was they allow each person to bring in an unsealed water bottle, so no one was dehydrated watching the show, and the security at barricade was constantly passing out cups of water to the pit area. As usual, The 1975 absolutely killed it!!! Always blown away by this band. They do a good mix of older and newer material. Some people were disappointed they didn't perform, Robbers, but honestly, it didn't matter to me, because theven set list is absolutely stellar regardless. This is our 4th show we've seen, and it never gets old. When you truly lover a band, and you're a true fan, you simply can't get enough. So....The 1975 will be announcing a Fall tour soon, and I'm sure there will be even more shows we'll be going to. I hope your experience at this venue will be as great as mine was!!!❤

I had the best time with my daughter. 1975 gave the best performance by far. The opening acts were just as great. I totally won't forget that night. Especially Matt Healy and all his hair lol.

At the end of the night, I believe we had been standing for 7 hours straight. My feet hurt and it was super hot, but the second the 1975 came on stage I didn't even notice. They killed it. The two opening acts (Sir Sly & Bad Suns) slayed as well. I can't wait until all of these bands become more successful ----they deserve it. Merch was very reasonably priced (t shirts -$25 and signed albums -$20)

The 1975 played an absolutely incredible show... Literally the most amazing concert I've ever gotten the pleasure to experience. The way they get so into the music... And how intimate it is with the crowd. It's you and them. No one else. They make that connection so real and so special it's overwhelming. They sound exactly how they do on the album, live. Matt Healy is DEFINETLY a performer, thriving on the energy from us. It was simply amazing.

I had a great time at this show despite the tons of teenage girls there with their phones constantly up in the air, in my way. All the bands were brilliant and I was absolutely thrilled when I found out a few days before the show that Sir Sly was opening. What a treat they were! I liked them before but after that live performance I love them even more. I also enjoyed Bad Suns as well, though I had not heard much of their music before seeing them. The 1975 were great as I expected them to be. I had seem them last year in the same venue and they are a solid band. I wish they had played Antichrist but I was not expecting them to. Overall the show was brilliant and I can't wait to see them all again!

Overall the concert was a let down. The sound was good and the set was solid, but sadly The 1975 lacked any sort of stage presence that I look for when I go to see a band live. They only stopped playing to talk to/acknowledge their fans maybe 3 short times. The production design was lackluster and hit one note the entire show. I get that you are looking for a 'clean /streamlined/sterile' look, but moving white backlight gets boring after an hour and a half. Also it might have been nice to have been able to see the band instead of having all of them appear in darkness/ silhouette for a lot of the show. I felt like they were trying to perpetuate some sort of out of reach rockstar persona that the tweens totally ate up but left a sour taste in this fans mouth.

The 1975 put on an amazing performance I didn't want it to end. Matty managed to drink, smoke, play guitar, & sing his heart out, I was amazed. The venue was very nice & had great sound quality. I would see this band play again in a heartbeat.
