The theatrical musicianship is unique and incredibly entertaining. Anyone who loves well crafted, melody driven prog rock owes it to themselves to see this show. The musicians are simply outstanding.

The Musical Box LLDOB performance was excellent. But the sound was not up to par. The vocals were almost always totally overwhelmed by the other instruments.

This was every bit as good as I was hoping and maybe a bit better than that. Wish I could have seen the next night's show. Band was very tight and professional and was just like stepping back into a show from the '70's. Wish there were more shows like this from bands of this era.

Having seen the original performance by Genesis in 1974, I was excitedly telling my friends that this would be like the original only with better sound. Unless the band was going for the full 70s Genesis re-enactment that included flawless performances marred by their legendary spotty sound mixes, Sunday night's show was a major disappointment, especially for someone who took time off work and drove 230 miles just to see the event. The sound man broke the cardinal rule of live front-of-house mixing, which is ALWAYS keep the vocals at the very front of the mix. We came basically to hear a band with a guy singing like PG, and left wondering exactly how much he sounded like Peter, because we could never really hear the guy. The sound was so muddled that no one instrument was really ever 'in the pocket". The whole mix was overpowered by keyboards and drums, bass was muddy, lead guitar typically showed up only on solos. You had to look at the guy sometimes, just to see if he was playing or not. I spent time standing next to the house board, in case the acoustics at my seat were causing the problems, but the mix there was identical, so he seemed to hear something different from the rest of us. Everyone I spoke to after the show mentioned the sound.. I'm happy to acknowledge the problems in mixing a band like this, but I'm a sound guy, and have seen perfect mixes of great complexity accomplished with a lot less technology than these guys had. That was a great system in a great acoustic space, and the band should have just sounded completely god-like. As previously mentioned, the actual stage performance was electrifying and virtually flawless, with the band performing even the original costume-change improvisations note-for- note, as far as I could tell. I'd love to tell you how much the vocals sounded like PG, but I can only say that he sounded pretty good in the few times we could really hear his voice. I totally loved the entire performance, but left really frustrated by the fact that it was so hard to hear it properly. A few other notes re the performance. It's really very weird to have the players twiddling and tuning up so LOUDLY over the introductions to the musical pieces. The lead guitarist seemed oblivious to anything going on around him in between some pieces, completely drowning out parts of the vocal narrative by testing out his guitar sounds, and destroying the atmosphere surrounding the story. What's with that? Gotta say the songs that faded out were a little problematic, as if the guys really didn't know what to do with them and were afraid of improvising anything for fear of offending the purists. I see a great opportunity to let a little of the band's own character slot in and create some interesting finishes. Also, speaking as a performer and a bit of a purist, coming onstage and tuning up and twiddling loudly prior to the performance went out of fashion in the '80s; again, it kind of blows the suspense and anticipation of the start of the show. Come on guys, blast out some Scarlatti or something to open the show, and do yer tuning and twiddling quietly under that. That's what The Guys used to do. All whining aside, I ( and everyone else in the hall) loved every minute of this performance, and found it amazingly close to the original as I recall it. The tumultuous applause brought the guys back for two wonderful encores, the eponymous Musical Box, and a earth-shaking rendition of Watcher of the Skies. A truly fantastic band who gave everyone got their money's worth I can't wait to see them again, but I hope they figure out their sound problems. Otherwise, the next time they play in SF, I'll be the guy yelling " We can't hear the vocals" in between the songs. :)

I was thrilled when this show was announced! The staging was very 70s'ish which was a surreal, amusing step back in time... but the music is why I went, and this band did not disappoint!! Great job!! This is no simple composition... it is a multi-layered masterpiece of rich orchestration and often unconventional, wry undertones with overtures of genius melody & lyric. If ever in your radius... Go! Why Mr.Collins retired, maybe he needs to be reminded of his roots and indulge beyond pop for real satisfaction! Thanks Mr.Gabriel for endorsing the faith... That's Progressive.

this band is amazing, letter perfect recreations of early-era Genesis. But I have to say, was the sound guy asleep? We could not hear the vocals well in the 7th row, they were often buried in the mix except when lead singer was doing very loud vocals. Very dissappointing aspect of a great show. I'd seen The Musical Box perform this some years ago at Nob Hill Civic and it was seamless. I do not recommend this venue and felt very upset about the mix.

I was born three years after Genesis released The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, so I obviously never got the chance to witness that legendary tour. This group of phenomenal musicians acted as a virtual time machine, and performed the entire piece as near to flawlessly as one could expect. They obtained the original slides used in the 75 tour, and the effect was amazing. The lead singer bore a passing resemblance to Peter Gabriel, but his voice was a dead-ringer..the inflections and everything. Each of the musicians performed their respective parts with reverence to the original compositions and with a level of skill and aplomb that I might venture to guess even Phil, Mike, Tony, Steve, and Peter found elusive, night after night. Bravo! The Regency is great venue, parking, as always, is rough, but this was a rare opportunity to hear one of my favorite composition performed live.

It's not an easy task to replicate any band's music, let alone a band whose 1974 album "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" is considered by faithful fans to be one of their more intricate albums to listen to. Genesis has always been many things to many people, and "The Lamb" certainly displayed their diversity. From the hard "Fly On The Windshield" to the sublime "The Carpet Crawlers", there's truly something for everyone. The Musical Box did a wonderful job of playing a note for note rendition of the album. They made every effort to represent Genesis, and had fun with it without being campy. Moreover, they all play extremely well. I never had the pleasure of seeing Genesis play the Lamb in its entirety, but I was thrilled to have seen it played so beautifully by The Musical Box.

I've seen Musical Box five times now (the Lamb show 3 of those times). The performance was great but this was the worst time I've seen The Lamb because the venue was terrible. No pyro. No fog machine / light show. Horrible seating arrangement. Really hot, very little ventilation. Regency Ballroom, at least with assigned seating, sucks.

I HAVE SEEN THIS GROUP PREFORM THE LAMB TWICE AND I CAN ONLY SAY THAT THEY ARE TOTALLY AMAZING. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL TRIBUTE BAND. THE SHOW FEATURES THE ORIGINAL SLIDES FROM TONY BANKS HIMSELF AND PERFECT COSTUMES FROM THE SHOW IN 1974. THIS BAND IS SANCTIONED BY GENESIS AND FORMER MEMBERS HAVE ACTUALLY PLAYED WITH THEM THROUGH THE YEARS. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!!!

I happened to see this show about 5 years ago when these guys came to the SF Bay Area. I was not prepared for my tears as I sat dumbfounded and in awe. Having committed every note of TLLDOB to memory over the years, the visual spectacle of this show pushed me over the top. It was incredible to watch the set designs unfold and hear the band nail every song with passion and emotion that could only be attained by true die-hard fans. If you are a fan of the original Genesis lineup, you cannot afford to miss this show. Period. I can't wait to see this show again! Thank you TMB!

I've seen them do Foxtrot(twice), Selling England(twice) and A trick of the Tail at the theater in Westbury NY. They are second only the original Genesis. Close your eyes or leave them wide open and you will believe that you are back in 1973. They perform every note to perfection. I saw in interview of Mike Rutherford where he stated that they do many of the songs even better than Genesis did. Can't want to see them do the Lamb!

Musically, they are still doing this music justice but is no longer what it was - that is an accurate reproduction of the shows from the 70s. They no longer bother using the full stage setup, which was a big part of these shows. This makes them seem more like a cover band than a theatrical performance. It is really too bad since it no longer does justice to the original shows. I think the members of Genesis would be very disappointed to see how these performances have degraded over time. They might want to just give up the pretense of an historically accurate reproduction.

Long time Genesis lover, saw the Foxtrot tour in the UK, all others through ABACAB. My preference is for the Gabriel era, which is what this band performs. Musical Box recreated the concert faithfully, set was superb. Top notch musicianship, obviously tons of work gone into dissecting the original complex compositions. Really remarkable performance, with each of the 5 performers getting the parts spot on. If you enjoy the sophisticated music of the genre, this band does a great job.

MGM Soundboard is one of the ONLY places to have the sound mix perfected, the right volume and the best artists. The staff all seem to LIKE their jobs. Have met many of the same team around MGM that makes it feel like there's a consistency on hiring and retaining the right people. The Musical Box was just SO spot on with their covering the early Genesis sound. Not the latter Genesis that was more familiar to many...so the fans were, for the most part, boomers who know the early English version of Genesis w/Peter Gabriel . Well done, great venue, great bands.

A great performance made up for an airport security set up at the entrance, They let folks in with their smart phones but wanted me to check my iPad. Then the coat check wanted $5 cash only. What the hell was going on? In spite of the gestapo guards at the door, the quality of the performance made the bad feelings go away. No photos taken and I wasn t going to anyway. Took the pad to the car and locked it up. I saw the tour show the band recreated at it brought back 45 year old memories.

Having seen Genesis back in the 1970 s and Gabriel in the years since his departure the chance to see the Musical Box put on another show was a last moment find. They put on the Lamb and it is excellent; Saturday night s SEBTP and assorted extras was by far better. The Murat is a beautiful old theater and we came over to Indy from Cincinnati and it was so worth it. The music, the presentation, were spot on. This was the most enjoyable concert I have ever attended. I watched the entire YouTube concert with Gabriel the next day and these boys have done their homework. Outstanding. The crowd loved it and I can only hope they come within driving distance again. I am there.

My first live concert was a Genesis show in 1983. I loved it, but always felt I missed out, having never seen Gabriel era Genesis. Experiencing The Musical Box performing Selling England by the Pound helped to sate a craving I thought otherwise would have raged forever. The artistry of The Musical Box, in its recreation of Gabriel era Genesis was amazing. The instruments were era appropriate, and I could now finally understand how Genesis managed to perform their early work live, because I witnessed it. The lead singer, Denis Gagne, really commits to his role, and the eccentricities and costume changes were great. As Ticketmaster's system seems to be indicating that my review will be scoring the venue rather than the act, I will add that I was surprised by how good the sound was at the Sound Board.

The Musical Box recreates Genesis as if you were back in 1973 (The Gabriel years). The guy that plays Peter Gabriel has him down pat! He has all the costumes just like Peter had and mimics him to the T! If you like Genesis, the Gabriel years, this is a must see! Also the bad it's self plays their parts very well too. Simpy put, if you're a fan of the original Genesis lineup including Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett and they're prog-rock anthems, then you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Musical Box. They have spent more than 20 years perfecting their shows to be as close to authentic as possible. If you quint a little (and forget that Mike Rutherford is right-handed and Phil Collins is left-handed) you'd swear you had traveled back in time. The Musical Box is in possession of and uses in their act some of the original sets and props from Genesis (check out some old videos if you don't believe me!) They also use, in most cases, vintage instruments. In the show at NYCB Theatre this caused a delay between the main show and the encore when "Mike Rutherford's" double-neck bass/guitar did not work. Eventually they got it going and launched into incredible renditions of three tunes from The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Apparently they will be doing the entire album in their 2019 tour! Can't wait! A few words about NYCB Theatre. For my money you simply cannot find better sound quality ANYWHERE in the tri-state without going to Lincoln Center (I have never been to Carnegie Hall). The King's Theatre in Flatbush is close, but since the renovation of NYCB several years ago, the sounds has been consistently clear & distortion free. I love listening to shows there. The rest of the venue is very nice. All the seats are new and comfortable and they've upgraded their offerings at the refreshments/bar. The other night we even seemed to get out of the parking lot quicker than I remember doing so in the past.

Musical Box was in fine form again with Selling England by the Pound show. (I think this was my 8th or 9th time seeing them since my 1st show during the 30th anniversary of the Lamb show in 2004.) They did a different encore this time with 4 songs from The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. These guys are so good you think you were back in the 1970's watching Genesis with Peter Gabriel. The musicianship was superb and singer Dennis Gagne could pass as Peter Gabriel's identical twin from the 1970's. I look forward to seeing them again next year. I also appreciated the security personnel stopping the idiots using smart phones trying to take photos or video which was clearly forbidden by signs at all venue entrances.

The Musical Box did not disappoint! I have sen them a few other times, but this show topped all because they announced that they are working on a new show to come next year...I am ready! My only complaint is "NO PHOTO TAKING OR VIDEO RECORDING" by request of the artists...come on! They are a cover band, and we are paying for this and should be permitted to take pictures (gee, I can;t even upload photos to use with my review because, if you even looked at your phone, the ushers were shining their flashlights in your face. The musicians played at the top of their game but the engineer(s) at the sound board could have made the singer's voice more prominent and highlighted various instruments in the mix, when they were doing solos. This was the second time seeing The Musical Box at this venue and both shows were simply amazing. The band is so tight...simply amazing. If you are a fan of early Genesis, you must make a point of seeing them live. One of the biggest surprises of the evening was the announcement that The Musical Box will be back next year and will presenting "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" in its entirety! I cannot wait for that show. The venue itself is a wonderful place to see a show...polite staff, great bartenders, clean bathrooms and great prices on tickets. One criticism however... ...I've purchased front row tickets twice, once for Brian Setzer and another for last year's Musical Box. You cannot see because the seats are too close to the stage. For seated shows I recommend sitting in third row or back. Love this place and will, most certainly, be back again and again. The quality beats Steve Hackett's Genesis Revisited tours. These lads are so accurate to the classic Genesis performances, they make you feel as if you're at the legendary Shepperton show in 1973 (not that I was there, since I'm 29 years old at the moment). The entire setlist was perfect, which included the seldom live-performed song "The Battle of Epping Forest." The encore song ("Can-Utility and the Coastliners") featured surprise guest Danny Carey (drummer of Tool) to replace "Phil Collins" on the drums while wearing Bill Bruford's famous B-lettered shirt, a nod to the fact that Bill Bruford was at one point Genesis's touring drummer while wearing that same shirt.

Once again, The Musical box has sent me back to the mid 70's with a masterful replication of a concert. Everywhere you look, People are singingat the top of their lungs, playing air guitar and air drums. The very definition of rocking out. This time it was Selling England by the pound. I have also seen The Musical Box perform other concerts in various Stages of Genesis' over the years. If you are into the real Genesis, this is show you must see. Take the kids. I did. Show them what real progressive rock really is. As long as the Musical Box keeps playing. I will keep going. Well Done Gentlemen.

What do we all want? The original Genesis line-up When is that going to happen? Probaly never while Phil Collens is around. I saw this show the when they came through about a year ago and it was great, This time I huddled in the cold to get a better seat... front row, 8 feet from the drum kit. The sound was spectacular, like being "in" the album. These guys are so talented and they have dedicated themselves to playing it properly! I imagine this is what it's like for a Mozart fan to see the NY Philharmonic live. It's that good!

Had no idea what to expect, seeing a 'tribute band' of my favorite band ever, Genesis. I was skeptical. But, The Musical Box was impeccable. These guys nailed The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, a pretty much impossible album to cover! Every member was top notch and the lead singer sold the whole event, as Peter Gabriel. He has PG's voice down to a T, as well as his mannerisms, stage moves, costumes and even between-song banter, even softly clearing his throat between sentences, as Gabriel does to this day. The one word that comes to mind with this band is 'reverence'. Every member uses the identical instruments (ARP synths, mellotrons, Rickenbacker basses, Gibson Les Pauls, Premier drums and Collin's percussion battery, various pedals and effects, etc.) the original band did in 1975. And they play every part lovingly, faithfully and confidently. But the feeling I got is these guys love Genesis and are devoted to recreating this music with the passion the original band did. They weren't just mimicking Genesis, they were channeling them, and bringing the power of that music back to our ears, today. I'm pretty sure The Musical Box will blow you away if you're a fan of Genesis. Give them a shot. Bravo, boys!

If you like Genesis and particularly the Peter Gabriel's era Genesis, this is a must not to be missed. TMB recreate the epic 1975 live show of "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" with the authorization of Genesis and they have been successfully touring this show worldwide for several years now. Go check what music really was about in the '70s!

The played "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" exactly how it was on the album. I have watched videos of Genesis performing this in concert and The Musical Box did it exactly the same way. I can't say enough good things about the band. I look forward to seeing them again.

The Muscial Box was in top form last night in Ridgefield, Connecticut. A dream come true for fans who never got to see the show in the 70s. One thing is clear to me after seeing the show -- a reunited Genesis, even if Phil recovered from his physical problems, would probably not be able to pull it off nearly as well. It is simply too heavy, complicated, and physically demanding.

Grand Rapids needs more quality shows like "Musical Box". The crowd and I had a good time and I was amazed at all of the fans who had seen "Genesis" do the show at Grand Valley in 1974. I prepared myself by listening to the entire "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" album before the show and was not disappointed.

If you are a fan of early Genesis then the Musical Box is a must see. The music is spot on and the re-creation of the sets, costumes and instruments is extraordinary. And judging by the encore they will return next year to do the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Having seen Genesis performing it in the 70's I can tell you that it will be a "do not miss" event.

This is my second time seeing The Musical Box and was my boyfriend's first time. The show was kicked off with Watcher of the Skies which was absolutely incredible! They then performed most of Selling England by the Pound, The Musical Box, Horizons, and Supper's Ready. I literally had goosebumps the whole time but especially during Supper's Ready. As musicians ourselves we know what a difficult song that is to play and how complex most of Genesis' catalogue is, it was amazing! The encore was a medley from the first half of The Lamb, also outstanding! These guys are so dedicated to authenticity that at times we would've been hard-pressed to tell the difference between them and the real Genesis! Denis, who performs as Peter Gabriel has studied every nuance of his movements and vocal styling and is spot on! My boyfriend who's not easily impressed even said he'd love to see them again! We will be getting tickets for next year's tour for sure!

I first read about The Musical Box in the 1990's, and before the advent of the internet, found they had shows in Toronto from time to time - the closest venue to my home near Detroit, a 250 mile trip each way. I went TWICE to see them, and enjoyed the AWESOME shows. Years later, I found they were touring the US - international issues had been ironed out, and when they hit Cleveland, I drove the 190 miles each way to see them again last fall. Then I learned they were coming to the Motor City Casino and their small venue. I took my daughter this time - and WHAT A SHOW. OK, it's largely the same that I've seen three other times (3rd time for the Lamb show) but I always enjoy the show. TMB have been doing the music of Genesis longer than Genesis themselves ever did. The guys from the old band have taken their children to see the re-creation of their shows from the early '70's - heck, the guys even shared the ORIGINAL slides and modifications to the instruments 40 years ago! So - if you are thinking of going, DO GO! The shows are awesome. Faithful recreations of the original. Masterfully done.

The Musical Box once again transported me to the 70's, via Selling England by the Pound (with a few selections from Nursery Cryme And Foxtrot). Superb recreations of the original Genesis, including costumes, multimedia, and Gabriel's quirky theatrics. Wonderful!

There's no words to explain how amazing this show is!!! Everything about it!! All the details in the music, the customs, the show they put on! These guys are amazing!! There's no other word to describe them! I'm 46 years old and would have never been able to see Genesis in my lifetime. So seeing this was a gift from the Heaven!!! I saw The Black Show Performance but I can't wait to see Selling England By The Pound. I became a Genesis fan after Peter Gabriel left, so I never got the live experience when Peter was at the helm. Over the years of wearing out vinyl versions of Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot, and watching YouTube and documentaries, I felt like I knew what to expect from The Musical Box. They did not disappoint! I can say it was very rewarding, after 45 years, to see these songs "presented" in such an accurate and entertaining way. Bravo! Encore!

Do not expect state of the art effects. This is old-school performance art using 1970s sets, costumes, and instruments. I never got to see a PG-era Genesis show, but I've seen films of them and The Musical Box is indistinguishable from the original.

The show is incredible and there is nothing like seeing and hearing this music live. Videos do not do them justice. HOWEVER, while I LOVE the deep, blaring bass - it drowns out the other instruments - particularly the vocals and keyboards. Either that or the vocals and keyboards just aren't loud enough. When there is no bass, I can hear the vocals fine (quieter sections) but for example Battle Of Epping Forest, if I didn't know the lyrics by heart already, I'd be very lost because you can't hear a word being said and he's speaking a hundred miles an hour. I know that's just a flaw of the song, but all the bootlegs I've heard, you can still at least comprehend what Gabriel is saying, despite talking fast. So I thought that was the weakest song of the setlist and the band really needs to work on that one. I think it's definitely a moment in the concert where you lose a lot of the casual fans who aren't intricately familiar with every song. Also, there are moments when the keyboards are also either drowned out by the blaring bass or just aren't loud enough. The organ in particular was weak at times where it needed to be at the front of the mix. One example that comes to mind is the Cinema Show instrumental section. In bootlegs, Tony's synth and organ are at the front of the mix and the organ is VERY noticeable. TMB show it was hardly noticeable at all, although the synth sounded great. But I want to hear the strength of that organ - a trademark Genesis sound. Another example is the Apocalypse section in Supper's Ready. Again, if I wasn't so familiar with the song and didn't know there was a keyboard being played there, I don't think I would have heard it. The bass drowns it out and all you hear is a wacky 9/8 rhythm section without much melody. This is not just a venue problem. I have seen this band in about 7 different venues and the same problems occur in all of them. It is a sound mixing issue. Maybe the difference is that the bass player has the final say for sound mix in this band and Tony Banks had the final say for sound mix for Genesis. I don't know, but there is certainly room for improvement and they should have fixed this by now. Of course, I am pointing out the only negative in what is otherwise an AMAZING show. For the most part the sound is incredible and that blaring low bass is AWESOME! Just don't want it to come at the expense of hearing the other instruments as well. Definitely go see this band. It is crazy good! Especially if you like early Genesis music - you are missing out big time if you've never seen these guys.

After having seen Musical Box 12 - 15 times, my expectations for the performances were justifiably high. The sound mixing for the Feb. 10 show was uneven at best. Opening with Watcher of the Sky, there was something off. The sound seemed to improve for a while after that. Then the vocals started to get buried again. During Supper's Ready there was a malfunction with the guitar equipment that took more than a minute to remedy, during which the band played on. The hairs on my arms usually stand on end from the thrill of a Musical Box performance, but this show didn't do it for me. I certainly hope this was a "one-off" night.

Some random thoughts about the Concert Kelli and I attended last night. I have never seen a so called, " Tribute Band". I know they exist for almost every famous group, but I never had the urge to see one. I am writing this while it is still fresh in my mind, even though my mind is jello-like this morning. The dedication of these guys to early Genesis, was awe-inspiring. For me there are two distinct Genesis incarnations. The Gabriel years, Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England, and of course the Lamb. After that is what I refer to as the Collins/Banks Band, for me, the real Genesis ceased to exist, after Gabriel left the band in 75.. At face value they were awesome, even though I had this thought in my head that I was in Branson MO, or Vegas watching some musicians still playing their old music, but just going through the motions. They were technically perfect, musically awesome. The Gabriel guy definitely did the best he could, but it is impossible to be Peter, only Gabe can do that. The Hackett guy definitely produced Steve's atmospheric guitar style, and the rest of the band were all great musicians. I am lucky to have actually seen the real Genesis, twice in Berkeley CA, in 72, and 74 respectively. I still don't know how to describe the feeling I had last night. Of course nostalgia kicked in Big Time. Worth seeing, if you are an early Genesis fan. Have any of you ever seen a tribute band, your thoughts would be appreciated. I am still sifting through, mentally, what I was really watching last night. It was very good, closed my eyes and it was 1972 again. Thought I saw Steve Bannon in the crowd, but it was some other drunken fat lady with a hat. LikeShow more reactions Comment Share

The band is fantastic and extremely accurate to the original Genesis. The only thing was the sound engineer had the drums and keys too high so vocals and guitars were lost at times. But musically and artistically they are impeccable. If you have never experienced Genesis or have and want to remember that time this is the show to see. I just hope the reevaluate thier sound eq.

My wife and I left early (after three or four songs). Sound was really poor and the Peter Gabriel character (Denis Gagné) either had a very bad night or he's just not so good anymore. We heard The Musical Box a few years ago (Trick of the Tail Tour) and they were far better. However, this "Selling England by the Pound" concert was just terrible. There were some good instrumental moments, but the singing was dreadful through and through. Oh well...

Musical Box was outstanding! The music and performance blew me away. The venue was less then desirable, but the show helped to distract from the pain of the uncomfortable seats. The seats were small, hard chairs that were linked together leaving no room. My back hurt for days after. The sound was amazing, the view was terrible..

I'm just a few years too young to have seen Genesis w/ Peter Gabriel and became a Peter Gabriel fan in college, but the Musical Box has to be the best cover band I've ever seen and I've seen them 6 times now, the Lamb twice, the White Show twice & Trick of the Tail. This was even better than I could imagine. Even my wife who is more of a Phil Collins fan thought this was their best performance to date. I would strongly suggest that any Peter Gabriel era Genesis fan & never got to see them go to any of the Musical Box shows - you won't be disappointed and SEBP was the best of their studio albums - I would put it in the top 5-10 progressive rock era albums ever & can't see anyone doing a better job of recreating the "feel" of the real thing. My only complaint would be all the inconsiderate idiots with distracting smart phones taking pictures & video that security did nothing about. This should be banned and eject fans abusing this.

If you are a fan of the early music of Genesis or are interested in 70s prog Rock music, The Musical Box is your ticket. The Band the reproduces early Genesis concerts from the late 60s and early 70's nailing the complex musical arrangements of the bands earlier compositions. The show was a recreation of a show Genesis performed in 73/74 consisting of the music mostly from the Selling England by the Pound and Fox Trot albums. The band sounded great and lights, feel, and theatrics of the original performance.
