Whitesnake

Legendary hard rock outfit Whitesnake has been inspiring serious headbanging for three decades, and they’re still electrifying audiences in 2015 with a refreshed and reloaded lineup for the Purple Tour. Ticket buyers can expect a thrilling experience when legendary frontman David Coverdale holds out the microphone for them to join in on mega hits like “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love”. Guitarists Joel Hoekstra and Reb Beach back him up with plenty of fire power as they unleash insanely fast licks and pummeling power chords. Meanwhile, drummer Tommy Aldridge and bassist Michael Devin tie it all together with their smooth yet intricate grooves.

I loved the Ratt/Whitesnake concert except for the opening act, it was awful. Ratt was the most awesome show, Whitesnake put on a good show but Ratt just had them beat with singing and show.

What a great show. Ratt played every song from Out of the Cellar to celebrate it's 25th anniversary. They will be doing this on the whole tour, so it's really a must see. Some of these songs haven't been played live for 25 years - and probably never will be again. They also played most of their hits from their other albums, including Lay It Down and Way Cool Jr. The addition of Carlos Cavazo from Quiet Riot on guitar really makes the band stronger than it has been on previous tours. I've seen Ratt on tour since the early eighties, and this is the best they have ever sounded live. Very high energy, and Pearcy was really on his game. Whitesnake was solid as ususal, but to me Ratt stole the show. Whitesnake played all their hits, Doug Aldrich was amazing - a solid performance, well worth seeing. I've also seen Whitesnake several times, and while this was good, it wasn't quite up to the level of '87. I also can't say enough about the facility and staff at the Black River Coliseum. I've been to shows all over the country, and have never been treated better. I will definitely attend a show there again.

Amazing musicianship from all members of Whitesnake, especially Joel Hoekstra & Reb Beach oh guitars! David Coverdale is as talented as ever. His voice sounding just like remembered from the 80's Hits. He made every moment fun & exciting as he made his way back & forth across the stage. Absolutely 120% effort by every member making for awe & nostalgia. Incredible to see a true iconic Rock Musician so full of life, energy and talent.

This was show number 4 of the tour. The venue majestic has incredible sound and has 5 star service. I was able to see the first 4 shows of the tour and each venue delivered a different experience and perspective. I sat on row c far right. No guardrail at the show so it's very close and personal. I can't state how good this band is live. They have play to please themselves and the audience. We lose legends and don't miss out on seeing David Coverdale. He is incredible even as an elder statesman of his craft.

I see alot of my favorite bands from the 80s whenever they are nearby. Sometimes I'm saddened or disappointed by the lead singer's loss of ability or even loss of charisma. This was not the case with Whitesnake. I was blown away. Coverdale was on the top of his game, in sound, energy, charisma, and commanding of the crowd. His power band configuration of players from some other great bands of the era put on one helluva show. The set list had all my favorites and I thoroughly enjoyed the new stuff as well. Could do without the drum solo and guitar solo back to back and flanked by new songs, but hey I needed time to get another bucket of beer at that point anyway.Glad to see these guys out on tour and hope to catch them again soon.

David Coverdale can't hit all the notes that he did in the 70's and 80's but he is still an excellent performer who engaged the audience and performed with energy and emotion. The band is simply amazing - all are incredible musicians, especially Reb Beach on guitar. The Deep Purple songs he performed also were a great look back on his first foray into hard rock. Overall, an awesome show and highly recommended.

The venue it's self was good every seat in the house is great. running out of certain beers was a little discouraging for my husband but all & all I would definitely return for other shows. The parking across the street was a MESS getting out of the place. Took just about 30-40 min to get out so I would recommend finding other parking options.

I'm always a bit apprehensive when it comes to dropping my money on any band from the 80's b/c one is never sure if the band one remembers can mustard up the energy & enthusiasm of the days gone by...but not w/ WS. They still GOT IT. David always brings out the personnel he can & this outing was no exception. I was so grateful for the opportunity to see WS in such an intimate setting. NYCB at Westbury is so much better in the half-round.

The total set was about 13 songs. 5 of them from the Purple album, and 5 from the 1987 album. I wish there was more variety, but so be it. David's voice isn't what it used to be, but was satisfactory. I'm a diehard fan, and wouldn't miss the show. They sounded great, but I can see the casual fan being disappointed. Being a fan for the past 30+ years, I've seen this band in many forms/lineup changes 15+ times. They usually do not disappoint, and this AC show did not disappoint. Lots of energy and Dave still sounds great. Of course its not the incredible voice from 30 years ago, but compared to other rockers in their 60's he definitely can still hold his own! The guys seem to be enjoying themselves and the crowd at the show was ready to rock! My only detraction from giving this 5 stars is the short set list. WS has so many incredible songs in their catalog, and to only play 13 songs is a bit disappointing. The Deep Purple songs are a great tribute to DC's time with them, and 5 songs from the new album is just fine. But then only 8 songs from all the previous albums over almost 40 years of material...many songs the fans love where left off this set list. Any WS fan knows what I'm talking about....but I know other bands are doing it...I saw Foreigner in February and they played 14...no opening band either... Of course I'll still see them again anytime anywhere to support them! Serpens Albus!

First time I've seen these guys since 2011, and they were as great as ever. In 1987 I took in my first WS show. Alot of years have passed but this lineup is as strong as it was back then. Joel Hoekstra was a huge addition to the group. Reb Beech = ICON. Rumor floating around that Coverdale is ready to put the mic up. If he dies he can say he went out vocal chops ablazing.

Fun Band - Great Songs However, Spotlights on the crowd from the stage were blinding - missed several songs with hand over face - why would they point these high power beams directly into the crowd? Had Row A and moved to back on several songs - where the sound was better also. PA went out 10 seconds at end of 2nd song and never really recovered - guitar mix was missing on right side PA most of the show from Row A. Set list was decent all the classics plus some old deep purple tunes - couple songs didn't fit - too slow. David's voice was better than last show I saw - and the guitar duo was fantastic - from what parts I could hear.

Saw this show last night (July 5th, 2015) and I would agree, most of the previous reviews are pretty spot on. The Answer only played for a half hour but the couple songs we caught were good bluesy rock. The singer reminded me of Robert Plant back in the early days with all of his gyrations and singing style. He did come down off the stage and intermingled a little bit with the crowd - for those of us lucky enough to be in the first 5-6 rows. Whitesnake played a pretty tight set and they sounded awesome. Coverdale hasn't lost any of his charisma, or his hair apparently, but he definitely doesn't hit the high notes like he used to. It wasn't as much of an issue as the band made up for it with their polished playing. It was a little weird seeing Reb Beach up there since the last time I saw him he was in Winger (back in the late 80's) but his guitar playing was excellent regardless. Tommy Aldridge absolutely killed on the drums and the rest of the band performed flawlessly.

This was a show reminiscent of the late 70's and early 80's when the music was what mattered The Deep Purple songs were performed with aplomb and fervor. David Coverdale sings better than ever and the new guitarist, Joel Hoekstra, knew all the songs perfectly and played them flawlessly and with feeling. He is a great addition to the band and an excellent guitarist that complements the already excellent Reb Beach. Overall, a great musical concert experience. Seeing Whitesnake perform with the long hair flowing free was just like seeing them in the 80's. They played well but the most impressive part of the show was the opening band, The Answer. Of the hundreds of shows I have been to this stands out as one of the most energized and exciting performances on every level. After more than 40 years Coverdale reigns supreme vocally and the guitar work of Hoekstra and Beach is prodigal! After all the years and changes in members David Coverdale still has it. This was a pretty cool show. They played enough of the classics to justify a Whitesnake show. They also had a good mix of "new" stuff. Even though it is really old stuff from the Deep Purple days. Drum solo is AMAZING!!! Overall it is The Purple Tour so know what your getting into. ie listen to the new album. But you won't be disappointed with the Classics.

I was so excited to see Whitesnake play last Friday at Emerald Queen in Tacoma. I am a huge fan and also a fan of Deep Purple, especially when David Coverdale was in the band. I got the new Whitesnake album "The Purple Album" 2 weeks before the show and it never left my player.! The re-worked Deep Purple classics are simply amazing. Sail Away ? Wow.... Whitesnake didn't let me down. They still have the voice and chops. After all these years Coverdale is amazing. He sounds and looks good. Doug Aldrich is awesome as is Tommy Aldridge on drums. However, I have a couple of complaints. Short playlist with "The Deeper the Love" missing and the overly long guitar duels and drum solo. I prefer their showing off their chops within the songs than ten minutes of noodling. That mixed with a bit too much chatter with the audience keeps me from a five star rating. Having said that, it was a great show.

The concert was amazing and Whitesnake is just as awesome a band now as it was 35 years ago. I had a great time and felt like I was back in high school. The sound was amazing and I enjoyed every aspect of the performance. First, we got a chance to hear an awesome set from a great band from Kansas City called "Red Line Chemistry". I have to say that their cover of Pink Floyd's "What Do You Want From Me" interspersed with " Echoes" was nothing short of inspiring to experience. They not only put on a great show but they are a group of great guys as well. Taking time after the show to talk to each and every fan, sign autographs and pose for pictures. They were very personable and fun to hang with as well. Then came the main event. Whitesnake. This year's tour called "The Year Of The Snake" (which it is the Chinese Year of the Snake this year) and celebrating over 35 years of Whitesnake. Yes, David Coverdale struggled with a few high notes in such hits as "Still Of The Night", and "Is This Love" but after over 40 years in the business what would you expect. He's no Paul Rodgers when it comes to maintaining his voice with age, but he still "brought it" for the most part. When he didn't, it was painful to hear him try to scream through the high notes that he used to hit so effortlessly. The set list was hit and miss. No Fool for Your Loving, Crying in the Rain, etc. Slide it In and Slow an Easy were combined into one song. What?! Forevermore was a big highlight of the evening. The dueling guitar solo was not too long and the drum solo was great. However, some songs definitely could have been swapped out. Or if Coverdale wasn't so busy asking front row fans if they'd slept together "back in the day" or sharing his whisky with them over and over (we talked to one of the women he did this with and she confirmed it was real whisky) then maybe they would have had some time to add in the songs everyone came to hear. Doug Aldrich was phenomenal, but it seemed like Reb Beach was just phoning it in - he actually looked bored half of the time on the stage. No presence like he had with Winger or even in the early days with Whitesnake. Coverdale just seems like he's morphed into the caricature of a cheeky old Englishman in between songs. If he'd shut his mouth and just sing... it would have been more enjoyable. I am a self-professed John Sykes junkie and I wasn't prepared to think that Aldrich could pull off Sykes' work but he did and with style to boot. He's a very big asset to this band. We had a chance to meet with Doug Aldrich at the bus after the show and I have to add that he is the "CLASS ACT" that everyone has said he is. What a great ambassador for the genre as he took time out to sign autographs, pose for pictures and THANKED us for taking the time to come and see the show. When he found out that it was our 11 year old's first rock concert and he's liked Whitesnake since he was four years old, he said "Get up here and get a picture with me!" Reb walked to the bus earlier and took no time for the fans. Tommy and the bass player ran out before Doug, got on, and that was it. The crowd waiting for them was so small - taking out five minutes makes a big difference. Thanks again, Doug. I would recommend seeing Whitesnake just for the fact of David Coverdale's broad career and the incredible musicians in the band at this time... as well as the hit factory that they were at one time. Forevermore is a good album, too... the songs off of that he was much better able to handle on this go around.

I had the pleasure of enjoying three blasts from the past a Nikon Jones Beach Theatre this past week. I am referring to the Sebastian Bach Band/Tesla/Whitesnake concert. Keeping it as brief as possible all I can say AWESOME show! Though these performers all got there starts 25 years ago there was nothing old....out of sync or played out about any of them. Sebastian Bach voice, stage presence and comraderie with his band was present. Tesla and Whitesnake were electric and I don't mean as opposed to acoustic...lol. David Coverdale was still sexy, funny and quite a frontman. Both Tesla and Whitesnake acknowledge all band members accordingly! All three performers whether belting out ballads or rocking out a tune keep the crowd engaged and on their feet. I would definately see these great legends of ROCK either together again or seperately! See this tour if you can! You won't be disappointed....Now or Forevermore!!!

By far....bar none...THE BEST show of the summer! For a 60 year old man, David Coverdale can still rock! Tesla did not skip a beat and Sebastian Bach is still awesome! As the years roll by and we all start to get older...some of these bands that have provided our live's soundtrack, just keep performing as though time stood still for them! I am thankful for the opportunity to have been at this show!

Whitesnake hit the stage with a welcoming thunderous roar from the fans (a sold out show)! It was "sweet rock n' roll insanity" after the first note! My friends and I had a spot right in front of the stage. The whole band was on top of their game this night! Every song sounded so awesome especially being this close to the stage. Mr. Coverdale made for some good humor in between a few songs. After the closing song was played, Doug Aldrich took off his Les Paul guitar and handed it to me! I reached out and grabbed it by the neck and held it up. My buddies were freakin' out! Alas, it lasted only a minute and a stage hand took it from me. Definetly was worth the whole 60 seconds! If you have not seen Whitesnake on this tour, get out there and grab some tix! You will be wishing for more after its over!

Very good show by Whitesnake. They started with Bad Boys,Featured songs from Slide it in and Whitesnake 87,came back for encore with Still of the Night. Each member did a solo, other than the sound being slightly distorted the show was very lively and the crowd was very into the songs and performance.Worth seeing Coverdale and the band!

The opening band was hot. Whitesnake rocked the place, but they should cut down on all the solos and obvious "I need air" breaks for Coverdale.

VERY GOOD PERFORMANCE AND SOUND BALANCE. YOU COULD HEAR EACH INSTRUMENT AND SOLO ESPECIALLY THE DRUMS. THE BAND REALY SEEMED LIKE THEY WERE HAVING A GOOD TIME TOO. DIDN'T LIKE WHEN THE WHITE LIGHTS PAN OUT INTO THE AUDIENCE. THEY FLASH INTO THE EYES TOO BRIGHT AND TOO MUCH LIKE STROBES. KEEP THE LIGHTS ON THE BAND. INCREDIBLE MUSICIANS ALL AND VOCALS.

The show was excellent - I can't believe they are not sold out everywhere they go. Trump Taj Mahal is awful because they kicked me out of my room due to the strike - but I have always wanted to see Whitesnake live - so I guess I just had to pay a higher price then most for it. Was disappointed at the VIP package though - it was only merchandise and if I didn't go looking for it I would not have gotten it.

What a great night to see sooooo much Rock Royalty on one stage starting with Whitford/St. Holmes and ending with Whitesnake. A magical night. I remember going all the way back to 1987 when Whitesnake played a show in Lubbock TX. All I wanted to do was go but my parents weren't too happy in my choice of music. Well, times have changed. I finally got to see Whitesnake and it was in a very small theatre with an energetic crowd. The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland reminds me of some House of Blues venues. Perfect place to enjoy an intimate night of good Rock N Roll. Acoustics in the theater were very good. The coolest thing was the basement where the bathrooms were has a sit down restaurant area where you can watch the show live on their TV screens. That is great for some people that didn't want to brave the crowds. The cost of beer was reasonable as well. I will go back to the Fillmore many more times. It felt like the 80's with a Sunset Strip feel that included a line that went around the block. The security did a good job with pat searches upon entry and metal detector wands as well. All in all, this was a great venue and a once in a lifetime experience for me.

What a show. David Coverdale still rocks. This is a great chance to see one of the "original" Kick Ass frontmen of the 60s and 70s that can still rock. From the opening act to the last encore, David knows how to entertain. Kudos to David and his "never say die" Rock attitude.

David's voice is still pretty good. The set that the band played was great. The only mild disappointment for me was that I was expecting to hear some pieces from Purple album, but there were none. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Everything you could ever want in an 80s rock show. Coverdale looks great for an old guy, had all the moves, said the right things to the ladies, hair was properly teased, chest shaved and exposed, etc. Both guitarists took extended solos, as did the bass player and the unforgettable Tommy Aldrich on drums. The voice was better than expected - the highs, screams, & shrieks were right on. He could croon in midrange without power and sounded good, but when he tried to belt out the midrange it sounded like he has been gargling razorblades. Show was surprisingly high energy, all musicians played extremely well. Was a great show.

For a guy 64 years of age, Coverdale still has it!! It's like his voice improves with age & what a kick ass show it was in Montclair!! An awesome set list & his current band members couldn't have been better especially my rock brother Joel Hoekstra who was ripping on his guitar & that goes for the rest of the band as well!! Any fan of this band most defitnely does NOT want to miss this greatest hits tour!!

The show was great David Coverdale mixed in good slow jams with hard good old rock. The sound sysyem is always good in Hampton. The rest of the band was awesome as well. Doug/Reb great solo and rythm mixing. Brian was amazing on drums and fits right in with Whitesnake music. David still has that rock n roll fire and I hope it will last for a few more tours, beacause I will be right there again watching them rock. WS rules a must see show!!!
