OKC Dodgers Snow Tubing Winter Festival

We try to do this every year. We all have so much, especially the kids have so much fun during "Downtown in December".

The slope of the adult slide and the children's slides was the same, so there really was no need for a children's that is simply shorter. My two-year old wouldn't have found the longer slide to be any more harrowing than the shorter one. The time slot was obviously overbooked, so the wait for the adult slide was ridiculous. Had both slides been the same, the wait would have been more reasonable. At any rate, the slides were very slow.

Good fun cheap Entertainment, for people of all ages to enjoy!!! Will be taking my in-laws from Georgia when they get here!

Good idea but boring for older kids and adults ...also tubes were heavy and had to drag them a long way...the ride down the hill was not worth the long walk back...and we drove 3.5 hours for this....expected more...

It was 65 degrees so not only could you not get down the slide without almost pushing yourself, there was only spots of snow, and then big gaps of the boards underneath. I understand they can't control the weather, but they could have offered to give our money back, or maybe charge half price.

I have went snow tubing for the last four years. It has always been cold, thus not too many people and the ramps where completely solid. This year, there were many people out because it was warmer and it wasn't as fun because we had to wait for the line to diminish. However, I look forward to this event each year and despite the warmer weather and longer lines, we all had a blast!

The snow tubing needs more work..... Too many people allowed each session .... Advertised that you get 90 minutes of fun... Took 45 minutes just to go down one time.... My group I brought said forget it....we're not standing in line for another ride... Workers at bottom of shoots kept screaming at parents to move.... Parents were taking pictures ....and were not in the way... But the workers had the POWER and they screamed it.... Lots of empty spots on the shoots - need more snow before starting each session Suggest... If you continue this .... Have fun activities set-up around the ballpark... Live Music Santa/Elves roaming around giving out goodies...

Don't go on a warm day! Very slow, not enough snow, only went down once on each slide. Not worth the wait in line. Better things to do downtown. Maybe ok for 8yrs and younger.

LIKE WEARING ICE SKATES ON PLYWOOD!! ALL WE GOT WERE EXCUSES ABOUT THE WEATHER. THE SNOW WAS SO SCARCE THAT PEOPLE OF ALL AGES WERE GETTING STUCK & HAVING TO BE PUSHED. THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS SO WARM & THE HUMIDITY WAS HIGH. WE TOOK PICTURES OF THE SLIDE DOWN & IT WAS SO PATCHY WITH SNOW THE SMALLER ONES WOULD GET TO THAT SPOT & STOP. NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO THEY WOULD STAND UP TO PUSH THEMSELVES OFF & GET GRIPED AT BECAUSE THEY STOOD UP OUT OF THEIR TUBES. YOU WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR AN ASSISTANT TO COME & PUSH YOU OFF. WE KEPT ASKING WHY THEY WERE NOT PREPARED & THEY KEPT SAYING WE ONLY HAVE 1 SNOW MACHINE & THEY ARE USING IT FOR THE LITTLE KIDS SLIDE BECAUSE THEY ARE WAITING IN LINE BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALMOST ALL PLYWOOD. YOU PAY FOR 2 HOURS OF SNOWTUBING NOT FOR STANDING IN LINE WAITING FOR SNOW. WE ASKED FOR OUR MONEY BACK AFTER AN HOUR & ONLY 3 SLIDES. THEY SAID THEY WOULD TRY TO REFUND BUT SO FAR HAVE NOT SEEN ANY REFUND. IF YOU ARE PROVIDING A SERVICE & YOU CANNOT PROVIDE THAT SERVICE OWN UP TO IT. WE ASKED ABOUT THE NEXT SESSION AT 6 PM & WERE THEY GOING TO STILL HAVE IT KNOWING THEY HAD THESE PROBLEMS & THEY SAID SURE WILL.* LIKE TAKING CANDY FROM A BABY*. POOR MANAGEMENT!! MY ADVISE IS WAIT FOR AN ICE COLD DAY & THEN THERE IS SNOW TO HAVE FUN LIKE IN THE PAST.

The lines were ridiculously long, the smaller slope was closed, and there was minimal "snow" on the large slope. I had a 10 year old and a 4 year old that were very excited to try it, after going down once they were ready to leave. The slope was very slow and uneventful. I've been once before and enjoyed myself very much, this time was such a poor experience that I will not return next year.

Our allotted time was 90 minutes. We waited in line for 60 minutes to get our tube. They closed down one slide and ALL the people at the event had to use the remaining slide. It was a terrible experience and doesn't even rate a 1 star rating. Will never go again. Traveled 500 miles and spent $200 for a hotel room.

Glad we did it but I thought it was a little weak. Slide was slow. Kids got bored and we left 60 min into our 90 min session. We were able to go down 4 times in our 60 min. But like I said, I least we can say we've done it

The slides had hardly any snow on them and people kept getting stuck. Then you had to carry your tube that was filthy back up the stairs. We went down twice and left.

Had a Great time ,workers were helpful , people were friendly . Will do it again next year bringing more family.

We took our 2 14 yr olds to this event. Both boys said it was somewhat fun but could have had a higher slide or some twists and turns to make the slope even more interesting for their age group.

The Downtown In December event in OKC is a fantastic family event. The event was well organized and we'll run. The system of selling a limited number of tickets for any given 90 minute time slot and issuing different colored bracelets depending on the time slot your tickets are for, assures that the lines are not too long and you get plenty of runs. There are plenty of grandstands open for those who want to just watch and shoot pictures or video. The $10 ticket price is very affordable.

I have been snow tubing before and this was nothing like the real thing. It was basically a slide that just was icy and you had to carry your own tube all the way around after you were finished. I was just really disappointed and was expecting more than just a slide.

I love this event. The staff is to be complimented. They really enjoyed their job. Truly made it a great experience. My only comment, do you sell too many tickets to really allow people to get through line quickly?. I bought my tickets online but tickets were still sold at gate so there were a lot of people. Lines were long. But other than that, Great day. We went two days in a row. That is how much we love it.

Fun time! Very cold day but heaters were every where. I was a lot of fun!

Great fun close to home for the kiddos and adults. Our time slot was sold out but I didn't feel like it was over crowded we made 5 trips down before the little ones had enough.

My husband and I took our five children to this event and it was a disappointment! We spent $80 on tickets and because the lines were so long, during the first hour we went down the hill only TWICE. Sessions are only an hour and a half long. Our 3 and 5 year olds did not want to stand in line for twenty minutes between each ride. They were crying to go after only once down. It is a fun idea, but whomever is deciding how many tickets to sell for each session needs to be a little less greedy.

Love the idea of all the activities downtown! Thank you for all the fun!! Wish the larger slide was a little more exciting for older children.

There were 2 slides - one for big "kids" and one for the little kids. The sledding runs were really just like big slides covered in a thin layer of 'snow' and ice. The lines were really long. We only got to go down the slide two times during our full time there. Our little kids didn't want to stand in line anymore and kept asking to leave. After sliding down, each rider has to carry the tube back up all the stairs and around, back to the beginning of the line, (which is really far) and then go back to get back in line. Overall, I was really disappointed and so were all of the others in our group. I would never go back and would not recommend to others.

Three teenage boys went and had a great time. They saw expressions on the one friend's face they had never seen before.

The people working the event made the day special!

Went on a weekday and crowds were low. My 6 year old couldn't get enough. My 3 year old rode the kiddie hill once and was done, but he still had fun watching brother slide. This will be an annual tradition.

My son (6 yrs old) had a really great time considering he only got to slide down 6 times. The waiting in line is awful, as I knew it would be. I would rather pay twice as much (20.00) and have less people there.

Fun time with the kids. The workers seemed a bit annoyed and used foul language around the children.

It was a great time and a good price. We all loved it ! Just make sure and wear extra cloths. The tunnel where you have to wait sucks that cold air right through and makes it feel colder than what it really is.

We went ice skating, Myrid Gardens, Santa Workshop at Devon, the Santa Drop, and the Snow Tubing all on Saturday. My grandkids 8, 9 and 12 thought that the snow tubing would be the most fun, we saved it for last. They asked to leave early. They loved the Santa Drop.

Long lines for the 'adult' slide. Incredibly heavy, wet tubes you have to carry around yourself and up a bunch of stairs. If you've got a kid with you you'll have to carry theirs too probably. The slides are neither fast nor long so you do all that work for just a short, boring ride. I'd pay double what I paid ($11.75) to not have to lug the tube all around for such a bland ride. Totally not worth it as it is!

What a great time we had! My 10 year old daughter said it was the "Best Birthday EVERRRRR!!!!" So much fun!! love it and can't wait to do it again!

The idea is great, but I don't know how the kids carry those heavy tubes because I got tired carrying mine after just the first slide run. It just seems like a lot of work for not so thrilling adventure.

Only able to slide 4 times in the time period due to lines and workers working blowing snow. Be sure if you pay online not to take the recommended insurance, they charge $30 for, without telling the price!! Most workers at the end of the slide are rude too!!

My wife and I surprised our four children with tickets to this event over their holiday break. We showed them picture of kids sliding down what appeared to be snow covered hills and they were ecstatic. The slides were fun, but we were expecting more. More artificial snow mounds and less Mylar slide. More variety of slides. More to do than just slide. Given, we went after Christmas so the Santa workshop had already shut down, but from what we could tell, not much to do there either. Overall, underwhelmed. We each rode the slide twice and only one of our six wanted to get back in line for a third go.

My two grandsons have been going to this for many years and really enjoyed the changes this year. While the slide part was not snow but some kind of fake substance it was faster than the snow. They also changed the way to get back to get back up so that it is much shorter. They were able to go down the snow tubing slide a lot more times. The boys are now 13 and 14 and come to the City from Dallas for Christmas. I would rather not have to pay the $3 just to sit for 1 1/2 hours and next year will just drop them off.

My grandsons from Tulsa (ages 11 and 14) were visiting us so I decided to take them downtown for snow tubing. Our adult daughter here went with them, too. I had reserved tickets online the day before we went. We chose 2:00 and assumed that each time slot would be limited to a manageable number of participants. However, that did not appear to be the case. The lines waiting to ride were EXTREMELY long so that my kids only got to slide down 5 times in the whole 90 minutes. That was rather disappointing, and that's why I rated it a 4. Otherwise, they had a grand time, and I saw lots of smiles. They really had fun! Your workers who helped with each rider were also very nice and mannerly.

No snow for tubing, long lines, build poor, nothing to the ride go down a piece of carpet no snow very short ride, a waste of my money

Grandkids got tired having to carry tubes up stairs

Decorations were ok, it just seemed a little sparse and lacking. The sitting area to warm up or hang out and wait on your kids had 2 heaters and about 5 tables, not many chairs and 2 tvs I believe. There was a concession open which cost us $23 for 2 bottles of water and 4 sodas. Th lines moved pretty fast and the ride down was fun, however, walking back around and up stairs carrying the fairly heavy tubes and your childs tube was not great. Some of the tubes were crazy heavy and the walk back was not too short. With all of the walking and carrying tubes we probably only able to go down about 5 times for the hour and a half time slot. Overall I feel like we spent quite a bit of money for not a whole lot of fun.

Was expecting a great deal more. There was nothing going on except the snow tubing. No santa, no other activies that I thought the spectators could do. The snow tubing wasn't that great either. Would not recommend this at all. Just a waste of money.

I took my 5 and 9 year old during a noon session. It was 54 degrees so the thin layer of snow on the slide was slush and riders kept getting no stuck halfway down the slide bc it wasn't slick. The slides moved as slow as the line. We got 4 slides in the 90 minute session. My kids were bored and ready to leave after the 2nd slide. Would defiantly recommend a cold day or evening session of you try it bc they aren't equipped for warmer days.

It is a really fun thing to do most years, but the snow was slushy and made it go slow, the young boys I took were very disappointed.

We had a blast.. Lots of fun and the employees their were humorous and very enjoyable.

My family had a blast!!! My youngest at first was scared of the bigger slide but then he went down it and loved it. I looked the fact that the slides could show more than one person at a time.

We had a lot of fun and it was very crowded in the beginning, but after about 45 mins, it seemed to slow down. My only complaint was that it was very muddy. Luckily I just wore sweats and a sweatshirt, but my daughter wore a brand new Under Armour sweatshirt she got for Christmas, and I made her take it off b/c it started to get mud all over it. Our shoes were muddy and the tubes had mud on them and when we carried them, it got onto our clothes. We weren't walking in the grass or anything, so I'm not sure where it all came from. Other than that, we had a lot of fun!!

Lots of fun! After first hour, there was no waiting in line. We will go again. Would love it if they find a way to get intertubes back to the top without riders carrying them back up the stairs.

This event needs organization and better staff. My 7 year old liked sliding, but wasn't strong enough to manage the tube up the stairs by himself. There were lots of parents helping smaller kids through the line, but if you weren't sliding there was no where to go but to fight your way backwards through the line. There was also nowhere to take photos at the bottom. Staff were overzealous in keeping the bottom clear. They forced parents so far back that many could not take photos. This was causing a lot of frustration. An area to the side of the slide could a have been safely utilized for photos. Overall, I found most of the staff to be rude. The older man who seemed to be in charge was constantly gripping at the younger workers for no apparent reason. Customer service was non existant. The girls working the bottom of the slide were flat out rude to parents trying to take photos. Some were even rude to the kids. The staff really effected the atmosphere of the event. Last year we had a better experience when it was staffed mostly by teen boys who seemed to be having fun with the kids.

To start with lines were a little long but my girls had a great time anyway! They've already asked to go again next year! This was our second year to go! :)

Our 12pm session was cancelled and combined with the 2pm session due to weather. One of our participants could not make the new session time but we were refused a refund and given a ticket to be used at another time. The lines for the slides were very long and waiting 15 minutes in the 30 degree weather wasn't fun. When we finally got to slide it was very slow and the tube got stuck on the slide. We went down one time and left. It was not worth the wait. :(

over booked, long lines and no heat in heaters. Average time to go down the slope was 20 minutes.

My grandson is 6 years old and everywhere else he measures over 48" tall; at the water slides, at the carnival rides, etc... But here they measured him and said he barely missed the mark. So they wouldn't allow him to go down the big slide. He had to settle for the smaller one. Even that would have been okay, but there were huge holes in the "snow" which meant the tubes got stuck. So they had workers stationed halfway down to kick the tubes to the bottom. They kept adding "snow" to the big slide, but not the smaller one. Also, too many tickets are sold per session. By the time you wait in line, you only get 3-4 trips down in the 90 minutes. Very disappointing!!

line went fast and that's the only thing I can say good!! It was nothing but slush halfway down you stopped they had people there to push u on down. We went down the big slope 2 kids 4 adults. The 7&6 year old even said it was a joke. They were done after 2 rides. WORTHLESS!! $12 for 2 rides unbelievable!! Will never go back. This was my Christmas gift to my kids and grandkids. Oh and carrying that tube was nonsense, need to have a by taking it up for you!! Even other people were disgusted. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Very friendly employees throughout the entire event (except at ticket window)... Only downfall was having to carry tubes up wet stairs, across walkway to get back in line...alot of work for a fun experience...we believe an employee(s) should have this duty Lastly, the KIDS slide had Adults going down it, causing the snow to melt faster and the kids to wait longer in line...Our Kids still had a great time...the 1.5hrs was enough for sure, they all 3 gave up about that time...

We took a group of 7 adults to the slides. The lines were short so it was easy to get to go multiple times during 90 minute time slot. However, none of us wanted to. The slide was slow and too controlled. Definitely not worth $12pp or for grown ups looking for some speed & fun. Would be best for younger children who like slides at the park.

Line too long and slide is not that great. Save your money. This is our third time to go and every time is the same. Kids get to go down about 3 times

Took three teen boys, thinking this would be a fun event for them. Since a release of liability was required, and there was a kiddie hill, I expected that the 'adult' version would be fun and thrilling. They were completely under-impressed. Spent most of the time waiting in line. Definitely not worth the nearly 45.00 spent and will most definitely NOT be coming back. :(

I had to push myself down the "slope" and my kids left after going down once because it was so slow.

My imagination exceeded the actual event. Tiring and anticlimactic.

Wasn't very cold this night but still a good time.

Truthfully I will not do this again. Waste of money.

Not something I'd recommend. We took two trips down the slide. We were SO over it by then. It's a lot of work for a tiny, and I mean, tiny bit of pleasure.

Staff were very unpleasant and rude. You have to be 48" to ride the big slide. They should consider changing to 36" so smaller kids can actually have fun. My husband attempted to take a picture of my 3 yo at the bottom of the small slide and was told to move. Too many rules that serve no purpose, such as safety. The snow was mostly melted which left plywood to slide down. This could be a really cool event, but it's not.

We were not impressed at all the lines were long, the ice melted fast so as you are going down we would get stuck and someone would have to push you down. To us that's not fun we wanted to snow tub not get stuck. We heard a lot of complements from other people while we were there. I feel like we wasted our money.
