Kenny Wayne Shepherd

My wife and I enjoyed the excellent concert of Kenny Wayne Shepherd on 9th August at the Space Theater in Westbury. Kenny and his band rocked the stage. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an amazing musician. Vive le Blues. Two Thumbs Up^^ and I take off my hat to him and his band.

The show was great but uncomfortably loud. The sound crew brought the music level to a distorted level and turned it up a few notches above that. I was sitting center stage about ten rows back.The opening act commented about how good the sound crew was. I thought that was funny in a strange way.

Great music, fantastic musicians, engaging performance. My favorite part of the show was afterwords when KWS stopped to sign a picture for me. He graciously listened to the story behind the photo and thanked me for sharing!!! I was truly honored by his time, music and presence! Amazing man

I have been a Kenny Wayne Shepard fan for several years now and do not hesitate to see him when he is in the area. His guitar work is just fantastic. I also love Noah Hunt's vocals. Well worth the evening out. Amazing - 5 Stars

Kenny Wayne Shepherd puts on such a great show! I went with a friend that has never really been into rock blues, but by the end of the night she was sold!! He and Noah Hunt really interacted with the audience and THAT made it a most memorable event :) Fantastic evening of the blues and hope that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy him as much as we did.

This is the 2nd time to see KWS. Great both times. Definately recommend.

I went with my daughter and friends, and all four of us really enjoy this show. Northern lights was a great place to see a band..I would go again!

He is an unforgettable musician. It was my 4th time seeing him and he was better than ever. I recommended him to any blue/rocker fan!!!

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is great! His band is terrific. I saw him 2 years ago and became a fan. The venue was not great acoustically.

This was my first time seeing Kenny Wayne and it will not be my last! He is amazing, and he has a great band behind him. You can feel the soul in each strum of his guitar. He is destined to be one of the new "Great Blues Guitariest". He is right up there with Johnny Winter and BB King. When he makes his guitar sing, it touches your soul. I am so glad that I went. Now I can't wait until the next time I see him and I am getting a couple of his CD's this weekend!!!! Thanks to Kenny Wayne and the band for a wonderful night of music.

from start to finish the band from kenny wayne all acrossed the board fresh and clean playing singing and accoustics at northern lights quite impressive and the fact that the ticket price at $20.00 is hard to believe in this economy thank you northern lights

He come out and burned up the frets showing why he is one of the BEST BLUES GUITAR PLAYERS in the great U.S. of A. JUST AWESOME

This show was fantastic. Kenny Wayne Shepherd has the ability to reach everyone in the crowd. He will come right up to the edge of the stage and show off his talent to people in the front few rows and he steps back so people in the back can see him. He's amazing, a wonderful performer that captures your attention and holds it for hours.

Ive seen KWS 3 times now all were good but he tore it up. I would go see him tomorrow if he would play close by...if you like blues he is one to go see.

Awesome show intimate space! I was surprised at the number of covers he did but he pulled them all off quite nicely!! Not only is Kenny an outstanding string bending dude but his fellow musicians were quite adept as well! Hey for $20.00 and drinks, all in all it was a GREAT time! My wife and I really enjoyed the entire evening!

Kenny is one of THE best rock n roll blues guitarists I've seen in a long time. His guitar playing expresses his soul and it reaches into ones own. The band was just the right accompaniment, especially the keyboardist whose soul expression was almost as deep as Kenny's. The lead singer's voice had that southern rock sound that was a good match to listen to. The showmanship was very entertaining and the view was good. The only negative I would say is that he needs to play in a larger performance hall as the volume of his guitar has left me wondering if I have permanently lost some of my hearing. lol

As usual Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band put on an amazing performance. He has an unbelieveable talent. Would love to see him do more performances in the St Louis Mo and Central Illinois area.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an amazing guitarist! He is technically a master of the whole guitar. My complaints of the show is that it was only an hr and 40 min. When you spend $50.00 a ticket you expect a longer show. Also, the folding chairs we sat in were not comfortable at all...

I WENT TO KENNY'S SHOW LAST YEAR AND HE HAD AN AMAZING SHOW- TO BRING THE OLD GUYS FROM BACK HOME THAT HE LEARNED FROM WAS A SIGHT TO SEE. THIS YEAR THE WHOLE BAND SOUNDED JUST AS GOOD AS LAST. HE WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE STAGE AND SHOW OFF HIS STUFF TO A VERY PLEASED CROWD. GOOD LUCK TO KENNY AND HIS GROUP-HOPE TO HEAR SOME NEW MUSIC SOON!

Kenny Wayne Shepherd was incredible, but the venue was NOT. This was my first time to see a concert at the VooDoo Lounge, and I do not think I could have been more disappointed. We paid extra for the booth seating, thinking that the seats would be elevated and that we would have 'special treatment' when it came to having beverage service. This was not the case. Our booth seats 'towered' a good six inches above the crowd seated on chairs directly next to the booths. The acoustics of the booths (located in tiny alcoves) was horrible. It sounded as if the road crew backed their cars up behind the stage and opened their trunks, for us to hear the new stereos that they got for Christmas. The wait staff was practically non-existent, only taking and bringing our order when a member of our party stepped out of our booth to block their path back to the bar. This lack of attention was NOT worth the extra twenty dollars we paid for the seats. If you have a choice, choose the open seating plan and get there early to get the seats that you want. As far as the music and actual show were concerned, KWS was at the top of his game. He has matured into one of the best blues guitarists touring today. The band was incredibly tight, and it was a pleasure to see Chris Layton once again keeping the band in time. I can't wait to see him again with the Arc Angels on July 31,2009. We were also surprised at the length of the show. It did seem short (80 minutes), but there was no opening act.

Needed more Blues Plus it's time for some new songs

Wow!! I was blown away!! I am a new KWS fan and was totally amazed by his talent. The venue was perfect--small and intimate, but allowed Kenny to show off his musical ability. The whole band rocked nonstop. They just looked like they were having a great time The background info on some of the songs really put a personal spin on the concert He played for 2 hours straight!!!

The concert last night was over the top as usual. We enjoyed every minute of the concert. Will definetly go again.

The band totally rocked, I love their music, but the show didn't even last 2 hours, started at 8 done by 9:40. I didn't sit down the entire time and screamed my head off. I was very disappointed when I realized they left the stage and weren't returning ;-( I'll think twice before buying tickets again.

Great seats and great view. Like he was in my living room. What an unnoticed talent. The crowd was either stunned or not familiar since it took them a while to get into it.

Fantastic show!! The Voo Doo Lounge seating sucked bad. Cramped folding chairs for the general admission areas. Standing might be better.

Kenny wayne and Noah put on a spectacular show as expected. Shepherd's guitar was smokin, how can a man's arm move that fast? The voodoo lounge is a great place to attend a concert, there isn't a bad seat in the house since you are in an intimate setting. Rock on Kenny, can't wait till your new album is out.

Kenny Wayne, Noah, and the band put on a great show in a great venue of the VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino in St. Louis. It's a great intimate place to see and hear the master on the guitar. Every seat allows you to see just how fast those fingers can go on the neck of the guitar. He opened with Slow Ride, but the show was definitely not a slow ride as he continued to play the great blues and blues rock that he is known for. It's always a treat to see the final number of VooDoo Child.

The Bear's Den is a great venue to see a concert, esspecially when it's my favorite band! Kenny and Noah always put on a great show, they are very personable. I will see them over and over!

I have seen Kenny Wayne Shepherd 16x in 6 states, he always puts on a great show! I'm sure I will see him over and over again. Noah is great at what he does too, and they are both very kind hearted and funny, very personable with the audiance.

At first when I found there was an opening act I was a bit disappointed. The first band, Tripp McNealy was awesome. I would love to see them again. If I get to see Kenny Wayne in Baltimore Thursday; I hope they open for him again. The second opening act was great as well. Kenny put on an awesome 2 hour show. 16 songs total. Noah was tremendous, as usual. Kenny really played to the audience; he was definitely more interactive than during previous shows I've seen. I hadn't been to the Chameleon club in a year or so. The renovations since that time are great. The bar was moved downstairs; so you could have a drink while being on the stage level.

Wasn't expecting the second band, but soo glad I got to see & hear them. NEVER have I seen or heard anything like the show that night. Almost like being there while history was being made! Heck - I was!!

Trampled Under Foot , opened for Kenny , A local Kansas City blues band , awesome performance , fantastic blues trio , I t is a pleasure to watch such a proffesional band ! Kenny is in top form , he has a lead singer who is great , allowing for Kenny to focus on his guitar , Remember , Kenny always plays the blues , he has never strayed , BE SURE to check him out when he comes your way !!!!

What can you say, but another great show by KW. Good opening act. Kenny Wayne put on another outstanding performance and gave his all. Definitely a must see.

Kenny Wayne played for nearly an hour and a half at the Voodoo Lounge in Harrah's Kansas City Casino last night. His guitar playing was flawless. Near the end of their set they invited two members of Trampled Under Foot, a Kansas City blues band, to come up and do a couple of numbers. You would have thought that they had been rehearsing for weeks. The female vocalist and bass player and the guitarist vocalist from the local band added another dimension to music of the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. I can't wait until they come back to KC and hope that they play at the Voodoo Lounge again. The atmosphere there is top notch.

I took a friend with me who didn't know who Keny Wayne Sheperd was. It was great concert, fantastic club; excellent experience.

Kenny Wayne Shepard is the best! His cover of Jimi's "let the good times roll" was incredible. He plays so effortlessly that it just seems to flow out of him. He has total control of the music. He goes into a trance and then when he;s done he gives a little smirk. Too cool on a hot night!

This was the best concert I've been to in years! Kenny Wayne Shepherd is such an incredible player, and he was completely amazing live. The band was rock-solid, the vocals were absolutely great, the sound was fabulous. Showbox was a perfect venue and the Seattle crowd was something the city should be proud of. This show totally rocked!!!

I'm the type who would just as happily listen to a cd at home rather than go to an event. Usually the sound is better through my stereo system anyway. My mind was changed and also blown when my husband convinced me to get tickets to see Kenny Wayne. I love listening to his music at home, but experiencing his magic live was unbelievable! Not one member of the band made a single mistake during the entire performance and the result was excellent, entertaining music that kept me moving during the whole concert. Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band are a great team that move fluidly through one hit after another without missing a stroke. This was one of the best concerts I've ever been to and I will never forget it!

Have seen KYS in a larger venue before but at Hoyt Sherman we could really see what was going on with the band. Not only his talented playing but got to enjoy the lead singer, keyboardist and drummer as well. Beth Hart has new fans too...us!

Beth Hart is the real deal. She was worth the ticket price just by herself. Both bands gave great preformances. Beth Hart started before 8:00 and Kenny Wayne Shepherd was still playing till after midnight. Both bands are a must see by themselves, togeather they are fantastic.

Beth Hart was awesome. I was really disappointed in K.W.S. I would go see Beth Hart anytime, but not Kenny Wayne Sheppard.

Beth Hart was outstanding and worth the price of admission. The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band was not good. Lead guitar way too loud. Vocals were difficult to hear. Every song had an ear splitting guitar solo the length of Freebird. Very talented guitarist but turn it down a bit and shorten the solos a bit.

Beautiful and powerful! Beth's voice and songs pull at your heart. KWS and band were awesome as always. Loved the newest songs of their newly released album/CD, a must buy for all. Thanks For a great great SHOW from one of the few great guitarist in the world today. God Bless!

These two bands proves that there is still talented musicians out there playing their a$$es off and making great music as opposed to this fake - pseudo crap they play all over the radios and the so-called "top 40" junk. Spend the $ and go see either one of these two any chance you get! It will make you appreciate real music played by real talent! you will not be disappointed!

The Shepherd band had learned that day of the death from cancer of a close collaborator and friend. It must have been tough in some ways to perform "as usual". The concert was on a work night and, unbeknownst to me, the opening act was about two hours long. I was only able to stay for the first four numbers of the KWS band, although that was the only band I wanted to hear. Oh, well. Hindsight tells everything.

Great show. Would see kws over and over. Never disappoints. But haven t got my free download yet.

Beth Hart was absolutely awesome. I would go & see her every week if I could. She's one of the best I've seen.

the most amazing night from Beth Harts opening act to KWS. Stelar performances by both. Ive seen them both before and they never let me down. Such amazing raw talent . plus getting to see them perform for 2 hours each was awesome. Loved the smaller venue made it more personal .

I loved the theater it was beautiful and well kept up. The sound system was perfect. Beth was talkative and her singing was spot on. KWS what can I say. It started out with a bang and kept up for two hours of his strong guitar playing and still wanted more. I could of listened to him play all night. You really have to see him live to see what he is doing.

We had a fantastic time. The band gets better every time we see them. You can feel actual joy and love of what they are doing when they are all performing. Will definitely go see them again. We drove 9 hours on a whim to watch Kenny, Noah, Chris and the new members perform and would do it again in a heart beat. Great blues and great rock and roll. Keep it up Boys!

This show would be SO much more fun in the grass at a pavilion. This is not a seated auditorium show for me. It is not a "band" , but rather a supporting cast for Kenny to display his guitar prowess. As far "prowess" I noticed Kenny has slipped into style habits that plague a musician into repetitive schemes and go-to riffs making it a bit predictable and monotonous. Also, I was just getting through Kenny's voice to hear Noah take over. The drummer was tired and uninspired which dragged down the whole feel without flare, and seemed to need reminding of the songs in the set. The bass played over the keyboard/organ solo which totally bummed me out. Most of the show was WAY too loud ... it's just cranking and hammering through the moves without style or groove. I'd MUCH rather hear the nuances of the band than watch Kenny blast away in front of everyone behind him. I was glad I went and I totally thank Kenny and the guys for putting on a "good" show for us.

Absolutely one of the best shows-concerts I've ever seen. KWS is in the very top tier of blues-rock guitar players of all time. I was astounded at how great he was. As a matter of fact I can't wait to see him again. The grand finale was "Voodoo Chile" that probably had Jimi clapping in his grave. By the way, the Tropicana showroom is very well laid out and the seating is quite comfortable. All in all a wonderful experience.

KWS and his band are like a bed of hot coals . Simmering and smoking , glowing and radiating the heat of the blues. Add a little more bass, a great riff and the awesome vocals of Noah and those coals flare up into a blues rock bonfire.

This is the 3rd time I've seen Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band perform and he just keeps getting better every time! He is an amazing artist and I would go see him every time he comes to town!

Rockin' Kenny Wayne Shepherd at the BMO Harris Pavilion at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Kenny really cranks that guitar. Fans loved rocking with Kenny.

I try to see KWS as often as possible. He is a standout in terms of guitar driven blues artists and never disappoints. Noah Hunt is awesome and I never get tired of listening to him sing. The originals are enjoyed by all but the nods to other guitar greats like SRV and Hendrix seem to blow the house down every time. Voodoo Child was a highlight for me. I've seen Robert Randolph many times and he is sounding more funk than blues lately. Great as always but I love when he plays more "dirt", the real soulful blues because no one does it like him. Listening to RR play steel peddle is like going to church.

The KWS band was fantastic , Robert Randolph and the family band were great . We loved the show so much we went to BB Kings in NYC 2nights later to see it again. KWS band one of our favorites.

Once again Kenny Wayne Sehperd rocked the crowd to it's feet. good selection of older songs and a few from the new CD. When he returns I'll be back

KWS is a phenomenal blues player. He has captured the Albert/BB King thing and the SRV energy and tone and put a stamp on it. His phrasing and attack are outstanding. His cover of The Beatles Yer Blues is killer! As good as any cover you will see live. This venue was a little lame, in terms of the crowd, so he wasn't quite as inspired as I have seen him (Nola), but he still delivered. I would call him the best modern blues player out there now. His technique is great, with a primal rawness, and it doesn't "get in the way". No sterile, unemotional E.J. style fretboard gymnastics here. Some say a rehash of Albert/SRV. I disagree. He has honed his own version of that and, besides, that roots stuff is the best - why mess with it?! Keep up the good work, Kenny Wayne!

As usual Kenny Wayne was at his best playing a variety of hits both old and new. The only downside was the length of the show, wish he would've played at least 2 hours.

This is the best guitarist of our time... Kenny Wayne Shepherd. He proves it every time out. Playing an intimate venue like the Macomb Music Theater gives back to his fans in many ways. Mind blowing leads, more than solid vocals from Noah Hunt, Tony Franklin's house shaking bass licks and the crisp rhythm of Chris Layton was simply a dream come true.

Real good show @ The Wilbur! The two bands have been alternating who headlines and who opens; I'm glad I caught a night when The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band closed. Nothing against Robert Cray; he's a great blues man, a great guitarist, and has had a long distinguished career with multiple Grammies and other awards. But its a more subdued show, and KWS had a much higher energy level. I had friends that went the following night when KWS opened, and they left midway thru RC's set. I can appreciate the energy let down; so, glad I got to see and enjoy Robert Cray first before being taken to another level by KWS. And if you've never seen The KWS Band: you're missing out on a great guitarist! Saw him last year, and will catch him whenever he tours in the area. And a huge THANK YOU to Noah Hunt (KWS's singer). I had a front row seat, and brought a photo collage I made from last year's show. During the encore, I placed it on the stage so the guys would see it and hopefully sign it before they left the stage. But a roadie saw it, must have thought it was a safety hazard, came out and took the poster away. I thought that was the end of that. But after the encore, Noah comes over, high fives me, and takes the Sharpie from my hand (I knew THAT was a good sign!). A couple minutes after the band had left the stage, the roadie comes back out with the poster with Kenny and Noah's autographs on it. Cool. Thanks Noah!

Kenny Wayne, Noah Hunt and the amazing KWS band are truly amazing in person. Their show at the Wilbur was classic Kenny Wayne. Musical virtuosity of the highest caliber , incredible energy and a love for the Blues (and the audience) which are unmatched in the Blues world today. These guys get better and better and deserve to be headlining shows in large arenas BECAUSE THEY ARE THAT GOOD!!!!! When these guys come to your town, run to buy a ticket .

Kenny Wayne is a master and the Taft was a perfect venue...not a bad seat in the whole place.

Excellent concert. Honestly, better than I expected. Played some of his early stuff, that I hadn't heard and, of course, finished with all the hits and then some.

Saw KWS band 2 nites in a row, Lexington KY and Nashville TN. The band was dead on without missing a beat. Noah played to the crowd getting everyone involved and Kenny was Being Kenny. Chris Layton was the heartbeat of the band drumming as only he can do. Awesome show!!

No smoke and mirrors, just raw musical talent. KWS band just keep getting better. Can't wait for their new Cd.

I seen the KWS Band a dozen times or so around the South and this setlist just blew us away. Kenny and Co. were dead on electric. Went to meet and greet and Kenny was a true gentleman as usual. Thank you!!!

Went to Casino Ballroom in NH , i always like Kenny Waynes Music First Band kinda put us to sleep , but once Kenny went on , things just seem to get better Ive been to alot of shows and seen many guitarest but dam , He is the best Guitar plaeyer ive ever seen live , Stevie Ray , Hendrix and clapton would all be pround of this guy , I was in awe they whole show , My wife who accompanied me without alot of knowlege of his music was also blown away

band- The KWS band literally rocked "the House" . We had gen admission tix and stood 12 ft from the stage ,front and center. Couldn't have had a better view unless we were on stage ourselves. Awesome job to the sound mix board operator , usually a live small venue has more of one instrument or the vocals get mangled or drowned out ,this was perfection. Great mix of new tunes as well as the favorites .Can't wait for the next trip to the HOB. venue-Be prepared to spend $20 at the bar (they'll stamp your bar receipt) or there is a $20 "cover" to get in even though you have tickets and not have to stand out in the cold before the (show)doors actually open. Not hard to do . They could stand to not have bathroom porters ,I'm an adult and I know how to wash my hands properly.

We have been going to see KWS in concert for the last 10 years and he never ceases to amaze me with his talent. The only thing I could complain about is that the time he has on stage is never long enough for the number of albums he has, and concerts always seem to end way too soon.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this concert! Great venue, awesome crowd. Kenny and Noah were on fire Tue night (as usual). TONS OF ENERGY AND PERSONALITY! I will see them over and over! (saw them the next night in Cleveland) This may have been the best concert they have put on that I have been to (almost 30~lost count), they played for almost 2 hrs, hit after hit. ROCK ON KENNY AND NOAH!

KWS Band came to play tonight.They showed up with Tony Franklin from the Firm on bass and drummer Chis Layton from SRV Double Trouble.The band was awesome!!!With front man Noah Hunt singing his heart out and KWS playing is a great musical treat.Mixing in new and old sons-Never Lookin Back,Come on Over,Backwater Blues,Nevermind,Deja Voodoo,True Lies and lots more.KWS, who is one of the great guitar players of today and this new allstar lineup shoudn't be missed.

As good as his CDs are, you can't appreciate Kenny Wayne Shepherd's talent and showmanship until you've seen him live. Very strong band, highlighted by Noah Hunt's vocals, which provide the perfect sound to match KWS's music. I highly recommend seeing them and will be sure to catch them the next time they appear in the Boston area.

the most awesome guitar show I have been to in over 10 years!!

I was the "one" from Ventura requesting Kenny Wayne for over this last year. So, I was thrilled when he finally made an appearance in my area. All I can say is - oh my God-that kid can play a guitar!!!! I was a little disappointed they didn't play "Deja Vodoo" or "Born with a broken heart" but what they did was UNBELIEVABLY GREAT! The lead singer was incredible and (of course) Kenny Wayne was all over it- so-so good!!! Thank you!

He's always good and def, worth seeing if you like the blues...that boy can play, hes not bad to look at either, hes getting better w/age!! Set seemed slightly short though...

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one of the most talented guitarists out there now. Kenny has put together a great band for his current "Lay It On Down" tour. Long time vocalist Noah Hunt rattles the roof with his powerful voice. Chris "Whipper" Layton on drums once again solidifies his place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Kevin McCormick on bass and Joe Krown on keys round out a group of fantastic musicians who seem to love performing together. If this tour comes to your town DO NOT MISS your chance to be blown away by the Blues.

KWS Band put on a fabulous show as always - these guys are the BEST ROCKERS EVER

Had never seen him before and did not know it was the first stop on the tour. You couldn't tell. This guy is ultra professional and still looks like a kid. Truly good guitar work and the support guys, especially the keyboardist, were pretty damn good too. You will thoroughly enjoy the show that touches on Hendrix, bb king, j l hooker and s r Vaughn- besides his fantastic solo material including the new material. All around, one of the best shows I've been to, and I've been around a while. All that for $50. A steal.

The most recent Kenny Wayne Shepard show at the Space in Westbury NY kicked off his new tour. The band was tight and KWS was smokin' with amazing guitar playing. If you miss Stevie Ray Vaughn go see The Kenny Wayne Shepard Band, you will not be disappointed.

A great mix of KWS and band's best songs and the new album, which has a some really good tracks. First time at this venue. Good place to see a show. lots of energy from Kenny and the band as always.
