Every song had a nice long groovy jam. Karl's singing and horns were a treat. Seth freeman was great on lead guitar.

What a rockin' show! Karl never disappoints! There was some serious funk and guitar rock synergy happening in that room!

High energy, funky beats, even tribal at times. Great uplifting show that keeps you engaged throughout.

Show at Royale was unreal...Anders Osborne on guitar, Karl on Sax, my ears are still ringing 2 days later, and it couldn't have been more worth it.

This band is so talented.... so why are they stooping to cover-band status. Want to hear more of the real thing! original Karl tunes, got a few early in the set, they are so much better than the Stones.

Fun booty shakin after party, these guys really know how to entertain. Very Funky, but good ol' Jazz feel like down in New Orleans. I would totally go to see them again.

The Royale is the nicest venue in town. Lighting and sound are the highest of quality. You put KDTU up on stage and you got one great night.

As evidenced by the number of individuals who had seen KDTU at other venues, the music will draw you in and bring you back. Whether blowing the sax, playing the flute or singing, Karl Denson's soulful, funky and jam-filled music always satisifies. The Tiny Universe were literally fresh off this year's Jam Cruise and yet played a fantastic set that kept the crowd shaking their butts. Playing for over 3 hours straight, the band gave everything they had. They were super ight, yet easily blew ribbons around the melody. You could tell they were loving every minute of it - and so was the crowd. It's obvious that every member is an expert at their instruments - but they don't let "technique" get in the way of expression. Quite simply, they were amazing. I'll be back next year, too.

KDTU was awesome as always! Not only is the band phenomenal, but Karl Denson is really nice, even announcing that the Yankees won when one member of our group asked. The show was enhanced by their hilarious wolf costumes and theatrical MJ impersonator. Bowery Ballroom is a great venue too. I couldn't have picked a more perfect way to celebrate Halloween.

This was one of the most exciting shows I have ever been too. Karl's Denson Tiny Universe are full of energy and are amazng musicians. I wish I could redo the whole night just so I could experience their set again. Can't wait for them to come back to NY.

Seen KDTU in many other cities, and this the was through the roof. Sooo much energy and electricity at the Bowery Ballroom. Karl & bandmates came out in various Micheal Jackson "costumes", which was very cool. They paid tribute to MJ with numerous songs and dance routines. Intersperced with KDTU new music and old classis, it was a brilliant show, one I will always remember.

This was probably one of the most fun shows I've been to in a while. I loved the covers! Everyone there was so happy and having just as much fun as we were! I really had such a great time at this show! The addition of Miles and Kyle really added a great mix!!!

Show didn t even start till after 1:00am. :( doors opened at 10:30 so we just sat there and waited and waited. First song came on and it was so late we left.

Karl Denson's Tiny Universe finally got my curiosity after all these years when they played at an outdoor festival that I could not attend. After watching YouTube videos of them performing, I then eagerly jumped on a reserved seat in the balcony of House Of Blues during Jazz Fest. This meant that I had to miss three major acts at Jazz Fest in the hours before this show, but this one far exceeded my expectations. I call it jazz rock funk and mostly instrumental. The 8 piece band absolutely COOKED. I ordered their latest CD when I got home.

Even on the last show of a long stint on the road, you wouldn't have known if he didn't tell ya'. He's amazing, especially for his age and how long he's been at it. So is the rest of the band, KDTU is the only band I bother to see anymore because they're always a great time. Professionalism, raw talent and good humor, love 'em!

It was the best show I saw the entire second weekend of Jazz Fest 2017. That's not faint praise.

This Karl D show was off the hook! Orgone opening was pure funky fun and this was by far the best of the 3 Karl D sets I saw last week... The other 2 being on Jam Cruise. Always a great crowd at Crystal Bay Club. Discovered Ideateam from Sacramento playing the after party! Big Fun!!!

Karl is the real deal. 'Nuff said. Don't miss it. Heck they NAILED a Billy Cobham so. yeah!

CBC used to be a place to go get your groove on. You can still do that but bring your earplugs and elbow pads. Clearly over sold. The CBC crowds are always polite which is a saving grace in a venue that had lost it way a touch along with the sound guy's hearing.

Karl Denson was amazing! His band is "top notch" and the special guests that were there made the evening a different event.At one point there was 4 guitar players on stage. WOW!

I have seen KDTU many times, and playing lots of types of material. This was an off night in my opinion. I frequently see Ziek McCarter as well (both solo and with Con Brio), and his voice seemed to lack his usual strength. Chris Littlefield was MIA on trumpet (maybe two short bursts of trumpet playing all night). It was nice hearing the songs jammed out, and the guitar playing was fairly solid. Show, including encores, was only 98 minutes long. Band came on at 10:29 and wrapped "Party Up" at 11:27. Many were expecting a break and second set, not encores, after "Dirty Mind" was finished. This was my 72nd show this year, so I do have experience in assessing good v. so-so performances. Making matters worse, the Fillmore had none of their usual ales, so beer selection sucked.

Supremely enjoyed this show! Super funky and great beer prices.

Keller was excellent as usual. Karl and Company were spectacular. Sound could have been a little better.

this started a little slow as the band didn't go on until after 9 and they played a few of their own songs before starting the tribute. after that it pretty much rocked. they played all the old favorites and threw in a few of the obscure instrumentals. definitely glad to have caught this show. i went primarily to catch stoopid who rocked it as usual.

Great show w/great musicians KD is sick. Then u add some of the dudes from stoopid.if u missed your bad.

WOW! What a great show. From the spot on perfect covers of the Beastie Boys to the legendary jams, this show was monumental. Karl Densen was new to me, but I will be back anytime he is in the area!

While I must admit the 2am start was hard, I forgot what time of day (or night) it was when the show started. Karl and Tiny Universe funkified one of the greatest Rock and Roll recordings ever made. The addition of Anders Osborne was the icing on the cake. I have been going to Jazz Fest since 2004, and this ranks as one of the best performances that I have ever witnessed in NOLA. I just hope the band (with Anders) will decide to take on "Beggars Banquet" or "Exile on Main Street".

I thought this show was brilliant and really enjoyed KDTU but the highlight was Anders Osbourne for me. I really look forward to seeing him in the near future as a headliner! Also I am a big fan of the Royale, great sounding room and reasonably

Fantastic music. Even better than expected! Venue was OK. Problems with sound, and poor variety in beverage selection. Especially they need to have a better beer selection.

As an old time rock n' roller and current funk aficionado, this concert was heavenly.
