Troy Trombone Shorty Andrews was quite impressive Live in NYE, greatly exceeding every expectation!! This guy has The Chops (trumpet, lead vocal, percussion, slide trombone) and much more!! To add, he was one of the 4 Bands performing on NYE!!

Los Amigos Invisibles was incredible -- more than I expected. High energy and obviously having a great time. Much much better than a lot of "warm up" bands. Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave is just over the top. Incredible mix of trad. jazz, funk and rock. High energy / great fun. Thoroughly enjoyed this show. Kickin good time.

This was my first experience with Trombone Shorty, and it will not be my last. He is an amazing showman, and musician!!!! Mad props to your band. I am a rookie when it comes to the vast genre of jazz, but I tell you this......YOU CANNOT GO WRONG EXPERIENCING THIS TALENTED GROUP!!!!

Fun band, great songs and groove, but Trombone Shorty was much too loud!!! It was a drag - I right ear hurt for the next couple of days. Really, the first band, Bridge, was much more professional in that they maintained a good sound, without blasting everyone out like hot dogs. I know in my band the guitar players start the volume creep. But really guys, you are good, you are fun, you don't have to push so hard - unprofessional. There is great professionalism in musical space. YOu don't have to fill up every meter with blasting notes. Geez - I'd recommend you with ear plugs

What an amazing performance!! Troy Andrews is from New Orleans yet he has developed his own flavor without abadoning his roots. The music was outstanding and the energy and showmanship of the individual band members was awesome.

This is as good as it gets!! I am a fan of this band!! I have seen them play a number of times having gone to Nawlins' & Jazzfest. To see how this band has grown over the past couple of years is impressive. This was by far the best show that I have seen from them!! Shorty was at his best!!! As he is known for his trombone and trumpet playing abilities, I was impressed at how well his singing has improved. The band was on their mark and didn't miss a beat. I experienced a perfect day while partying all day at the pool of the W on the ocean in 60+ weather, then jammin' to Shorty that evening. Life is Good!!!

Fusik and Trombone Shorty were both incredible acts. For Fusik to put on a show like that being a local band was electrifying and left me completely impressed. Trombone Shorty absolutely killed it, really made me wanting more. Can't wait until he visits South Florida again. The first act, Ketchy Chuby, was pretty weak, although the guy on the multi-instrumentalist was really good. Lead singer was a bad Steven Tyler-wanna be mixed with Sexual Chocolate from Coming To America-- more comical than anything else. Also given wayyyy too much time on stage. Otherwise, a great night.

Trombone Shorty is a must see for anyone who loves jazz/rock/funk/hip hop. Trombone Shorty can dance, sing and play--a triple threat. What a fun evening! He played a long concert and every song was fabulous! I can't reccomend this guy enough!

Trombone Shorty put on an amazing show at Jazz Fest Weekend 1 in New Orleans. This was the first time my husband and I saw him and we were blown away. My husband is a drummer and commented so many times that Trombone Shorty was the best show at Jazz Fest this year. He is an incredible musician, plays multiple instruments and puts on a great show. Can't wait til he comes to Houston.

Last year, when my husband and I saw Trombone Shorty at the zoo, we knew our kids would love to hear him. So this year, we got our 26 and 19 year old kids together, and the family went on our first family outing in 10 years! Trombone Shorty did not disappoint! Unbelievably talented musician-- we'll be talking about the concert for a LONG time!

This is the best concert ever! Very energetic and everyone getting with it. Nothing else comes close. My wife and I have been to many performances for over 45 years. Chicago, Hall and Oates, Straight-No Chaser, Maynard Ferguson, Bill Gaither, Beatles Review, Phil Collins and Genesis, Mannheim Steamroller(total waste of money to watch people pantomime), and other performers as well, we like variety and brass. Looking forward to Trombone Shorty coming back to this area again.

Wow, what a show! I went into the show being a fan of his music from the more jazzy stuff to the funk workouts and everything in between. My wife was a little hesitant thinking she'd be treated to a more serious jazzy evening. She couldn't have been more wrong it was high energy from the outset with one blazing funk workout to another. We got a great cover of "Lets Get it On", a crazy snippet of the Chili Peppers "Give it Away" that brought the house down and lots of Trombone Shorty originals in between. Don't miss him if he comes to your town, you'll be sorry. The show was a non-stop funky dance party from start to finish!

We absolutely loved his performance! The Mercury. ballroom is a standing only venue. I have difficulty standing for long periods. They made sure I received a chair in an area near the stage. I really appreciated that and it made my experience enjoyable. I will return!

Never have I seen a concert where every member of the band could be a solo artist. And then on top of that, the lead, Trombone Shorty, with his versatile style, passion, and humility, is like a magnet for other artists, leading to a show jam-packed with guest artists that could be mistaken for a benefit concert. It was 3+ hours of musical perfection that started off at full throttle and never let up. A perfect blend of horns, electric, and percussion, and packed full of solos that cause goosebumps... Trombone Shorty can resuscitate your soul! Hands down my favorite concert to date.

Had the pleasure of going to the new House of Blues Anaheim for New Year's Eve!!! The facility is professionally run, clean, has a banging sound system, plenty of bars, good sight lines and spacious. Trombone Shorty brought the thunder for nearly 2 hours!!! Troy is an INCREDIBLE performer. He plays the trombone, trumpet, sings and dances. His band is tight and they clearly have fun playing their set. I can't wait to see them again. They never disappoint!!! Oh, and HOB Staff member #37 was especially helpful and friendly!

An outstanding show with amazing musicianship. VT did a superb job getting the crowd fired up with a strong rhythm and blues set. Shorty was off the charts. This guy can do everything. Reminded me a bit of Prince with his all round talent. Orleans Avenue is stacked with great musicians so the walk of sound rocked! I will see this guy again and again!

This is my 5th time seeing Trombone Shorty and it was the best. Shorty is amazing all by himself but when he invites his friends to perform on stage with him it's a real treat. Usher, Juvenile, Andrea Day were just a few of the famous names that drop in to perform. It wa an excellent show and will definitely pay money to see him again.

Sort of! Great show by Shorty. Horns were tight and sound was perfect. He is on tour with the Chili Peppers so he may have adjusted and trimmed his song selection to match what he has been playing on tour because we certainly missed out on the New Orleans funk and style that his shows are known for. Otherwise, he got this crowd going on each song. At the finale, he walked among the crowd Orleans style, where the rest of the band followed his lead to the tune of When the Saints Go Marching In!

The Trombone Shorty concert was an amazing experience. I was lucky to stand at the edge of the stage and connect with him. I've been following him since he was new on the scene all the way to being the headliner and the poster musician for Jazzfest in New Orleans. This concert was truly unforgettable for me. I've seen trombone shorty 3 times this year alone. This concert was amazing! Very intimate and he had all of his band members. And brought along Ivan Nevelle on organ, son of legendary Aaron Nevelle. He ended the show with a New Orleans Mardi Gras style costume and music! What a great show!

This was one of the best concerts I've attended in a long time. I loved the party atmosphere of this New Orleans band. The crowd was a little slow getting into it (definitely NOT because of TS), but halfway through everyone was on their feet! Can't help but get your jazz groove on when the they start playing. We've seen him about 5-6 times now and he has never let us down. Perfect way for an out of towner to hear some good New Orleans music in a safer environment.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave put on an awesome show!! I enjoyed every minuted of it. Shorty is a very talented artist. He had the crowd jumping from the moment he walked onto the stage!! The Original Pinettes were great also. I love the ladies doing their thing!!

Been to 3 Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave shows now and they NEVER, EVER disappoint. Get the CD's first so you can sing along but be ready for some popular songs from other artists as well. Can't wait to see them again, hopefully out of the country next time. BTW, Dan blew my mind when he did the 2d Line when they play "Go to the Mardi Gras"....PRICELESS!

I heard Trombone Shorty's Hurricane Season on WXPN a few weeks earlier and thought, "Wow this guy is awesome". So one night, while leaving the Keswick Theatre I saw a billboard for his upcoming show and immediately bought tickets. Wow, I was not disappointed!! At first I was a little concerned because it seemed to be an older crowd and they sat through the first couple of numbers, but then the fever caught on. Everyone was standing, clapping, dancing and grooving to some funky sounds for the rest of the show. Aside from his hits, I really enjoyed his nod to Louis Armstrong and loved this medley of When the Saints Come marching in/Somebody to love. A truly awesome show.

We lasted about 40 minutes, the band was great. The House of Blues where we sat was freezing cold the air condition was blowing directly on our seats. I made a request to have them turn the temperature up but nothing was done.

From the opening act (The Record Company) through the main act (Trombone Shorty), this evening was full of non-stop, high energy music and dancing. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. The new venue is open and airy with great viewing screens and lots of knee room between rows. Convenient parking was another plus.

First the negative: the pre-concert music and the Warm-up band. BOTH a TOTAL disaster and mis-match. The pre-concert music playing over the PA was 60s/70s queer rock .....yuck, VERY annoying!!!! Definately NOT even close to the same genre of Trombone Shorty's music. Then the warm up band "The Record Company" was a VERY mediocre Blues/rock trio who's musicianship wasn't much above an amateur garage band. Very bad choice, and again, NOT even close to the same genre of Trombone Shorty's music - VERY annoying!!!!. They didn't warm us up, they annoyed us!!! Now the Positive: TROMBONE SHORTY!!!!! He and his band are an AWESOME blend of jazz/R&B/Funk/rock who blew the roof off the place with their music!!! He is a top notch horn player, as are ALL his band members. They more than made up for for the prior mentioned negatives!!!!

Trombone shorty did not fail to bring a memorable performance highlighting his growth as a main act performer. The energy he and his band brought to the stage was infectious, and the musical talent of this group is off the charts. He continues to solidify his place as a big dog musical talent! The venue was impressive and will be a definite destination once all the restaurants are up and running. The venue was comfortable, the acoustics were ample, and there doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. Can't wait to see this place flourish and draw more acts

I heard about Trombone on the Tavis Smiley show and thought he was worth checking out. It was worth every penny! One of the best shows I have ever seen, and I've seen them all, including Elvis. Trombone and his band nailed it. If he returns, I will go again.

Amazing! We bought tickets for St. Paul only to discover Trombone Shorty! Trombone Shorty was amazing. As soon as he hit the stage the energy jumped from zero to 1000 and never let up!. Have never seen a concert so well choreographed from an energy standpoint. While unfamiliar with his music, I became an instant fan. We had only planned to stay until 10 (and he started late) but the show was so good, we couldn't leave! Especially loved the Red Hot Chili Pepper rendition. The sax players were amazing, as were the singers etc. No weak links in this polished show. Trombone Shorty took his act into the stands, up and down rows.... electric. If you ever have the chance to see him live, don't miss out! A once in a lifetime experience

St Paul and the Broken Bones were good. They had the crowd up and enjoying the show. Their set went on for 1 and 1/2 hours. TOOOO long for for an opener. There were 2 times that would have been perfect for them to leave to stage. They played at least 30 min too long. Buy the time Shorty came on the crowd seemed a little tired. Shorty only played for 1 hour. As a big fan of Trombone Shorty I would of preferred for him to play longer. I bought my ticket to see him, not the opening act. Half of the crowd left before Shorty was done playing. I think they were just worn out.

There hasn't been a Trombone Shorty concert I've attended that I haven't enjoyed immensely. However, this concert grew the band from six members to 12 members. There was just so much musicianship on stage there just didn't seem to be enough time to enjoy the core members and what they bring. I felt like Pete's solos were limited compared to concerts I've seen before. Joey is a drumming phenomenon but to have to share time with others on solos slightly distanced me from saying this was my favorite SHORTY concert. Again, never ever disappointed just that if you grow the band to double the size then you have to double the concert length to get to see all the talent each member brings to the stage.

Fantastic. Only two complaints. Wish people would be considerate and put their damn cell phone away. Lady next to us wasn't at the concert. She was in her Bright dumb phone. The concert was to start at 700. It started after 730.
