Great Canadian internationally renowned band originally from Calgary - love Marigold - and so many of their songs -- they are funny, charming, amazing musicians I find myself focusing in on the guitarist, the drummer, bass player taking in all their moves, licks and individual skill as well as the whole musical artistry that makes their music just solid great rock and roll --- second time to see them and they are coming back in October, they say --- when the tickets go on, I'll be picking them up. All I can say is wow! Major fun night if you love lyrical rock, a fat bass sound, and driving rock and roll drumming along with amazing guitar riffs and solos. I think the Calgary Stampeders should adopt Marigold as their theme song, since they are originally from Calgary and a song about a horse, wow that rockin' gallop would be awesome - I'll add that note the next time I review a Stamps game haha.

Upon my arrival to the concert I had to admit I was a little skeptical. Blues in Kissimmee? Really? But after the first song played, I new this was the real thing. I was in heaven. The music was awesome, the people were great and the food was good too. There wasn't anything finer than sitting back listening to the blues while enjoying BBQ on a beautiful summer day. The artists were true bluesman/women and the sets were switched quickly for the next great blues artist to share his/her craft. I really hope they come back next year (or sooner) i am sure more people will show up. I am one of those people and I will be spreading the word. Blues in Kissimmee? who would've thought. not me. But now that I got the taste of what these people have to offer, I will never second guess them again. Lets have more blues concerts there and allow for it to grow and become something great for people to come to year in and year out. CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR YOU AGAIN REAL SOON. :)

I am a big Brooks & Dunn fan so it was with a bit of trepidation that I attended a concert with just Kix Brooks. What a wonderful evening. Kix was always smiling and enthusiastic and interacted with the crowd several times. He sang some songs on his new solo album, "New To This Town" as well as many Brooks & Dunn songs. Two of his band mates also performed solos. Kix played and sang for about 90 minutes and came back and did a three song encore. It is always a joy to watch an artist who really loves doing what he is doing perform live, and Kix is definitely one of those people.

Juliana Hatfield

I have heard of Juliana Hatfield over the years but never really listened to her music until I heard a track from Become What You Are on Radio Paradise a couple of years ago. I can't recall the specific track but it made an impression strong enough for me to buy (and it was hard to find) the CD. That album is very strong from start to finish and I regularly boast it to my friends as a release to check out as an opportunity to experience a gal with various and very unique talents. So I caught an announcement in the Boston Globe about the JH3 joining up for the first time since that release and I scooped the tickets. I was pleased, to say the least, that Juliana announced that they would be playing the entire Become What You Are release that night. The album has very good engineering & production and there are of course some vocal overdubs but when played live I really liked how Juliana improvised using her vocal chops, suddenly changing pitch and loudness. After that first half of the show, the band came back on to perform tracks from the new release entitled Whatever, My Love. After 21 years the band has that characteristic JH3 sound and it is a sound all their own. But there were a couple of tunes that had a notably harder/faster edge. The change in tempo and edginess took me by surprise but I really liked it and especially how Juliana laid into some raucous guitar work. So needless to say that I will be purchasing the new release. And for what it's worth, I bought a poster after the show and I give kudos to the artist. Juliana herself possesses very unique talents and it is that uniqueness with the ability to make good music that makes her stand apart. I recommend catching this gem of an artist and I will also say that she has a very likeable and yes, dare I say "cute" stage presence. She appreciated her fans and she poked some fun at her band members which brought on some laughter from the crowd. I felt fortunate to experience Juliana, her JH3 and to be in a venue well suited for the trio. She of course has Boston roots, stated that she loved the venue and is able to walk there from her home. Locality aside, she is a world class act.

My title says it all. Pavement was great. I've been waiting to see these guys for 15 years and they didn't disappoint. The venue sucked though.... the sound and the vibe at Roy Wilkins Auditorium is always terrible. There are very few bands that can get me to pay for a ticket at RW aud.

I ve been going to Sloan shows for 25 years now. This show was a shorter set and they played a lot from their new album 12 so if you re hoping for a lot of classics you will be disappointed. New album is really good so I still enjoyed myself even though I m still getting to know it. Definitely a must see for any fan!
